Making ADRs for DVC Split Stay--NEED HELP FAST!!!

I'm calling Tuesday for my ADRs. Should I call WDW Dining or DVC MS?

Also, I will be staying concierge on the first night, just to do the Sunrise Safari. Then we are moving into a 2 BR. Is the IPO able to make dining reservations for me just that night and next day, or for the whole trip?

DVC offices open later than the regular dining reservation, so if you want a hard to get reservation, I would go through the WDW dining. You can also go online to do them, it's really easy and you can view the choices yourself instead of having the operator read through whats available.

Thanks for the quick reply. I would do them online except that I will be on the road, traveling to my Spring Break vacation that morning. I won't have access to internet; time for an iphone, huh? What time can I call Disney Dining? Also, is the number 407-WDW-DINE?

Honestly, the only reason I can see to calling MS for dining reservations is if you don't have free long distance and want to use the toll free number to call. MS uses the same reservation system for dining as the main dining line.

Remember when the switched from 90 day booking to 180 day booking? That was the day I was to call for our ADRS (180 days exactly.).

anyway, Jason, from Member Services, was THE ONLY CM that did not hang up on my after saying, "our computers are not working. Call back later." He and I stayed on the phone together for an hour and slowly, very slowly, he took care of my reservations. Of course, I won't always get Jason when I call MS, but since the CMs that were hanging up on me were from the regular phone line... I don't know - I'll just always wait and call when MS is open.

I've never had an issue with any CM at the main dining line. I don't see the need to tie up MS with dining reservations when there is another group that can assist me if I'm not using the on-line system.

On-line ADRs can be made at: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/
If you are trying to make them at your 180 day mark for your entire stay (up to 10 day), yes you would need to enter your room reservation number. I don't know what time the on-line system rolls to the next day.

Yes, the website will require you to logon prior to making any reservation. The ADR system should accept your room reservation now, but not open the +10 booking window until you are 180 days out.

For the restaurant you want to make an ADR for, click the 'Book a Reservation' button. Once the booking engine loads, look for the following:

Resort Guests & Dining Plan
If you have a Resort reservation or would like to associate your Disney Dining Plan to your dining reservations, please retrieve your resort reservation. (Please be advised that not all restaurants participate in the Disney Dining Plan. Please check your Dining Plan information for participating restaurants.) Retrieve your reservation.

Click the words 'Retrieve your reservation', there you will enter your room reservation number.

We have a split stay beginning with BLT 9/30 - 10/2, BWV 10/3 - 10/8, check out 10/9. We plan to stay on property for cash on the night of 9/29 but have not made that reservation as we are awaiting news of an AP cash discount. Today I made online ADRs and associated them all with our first reservation at BLT, which begins 9/30. Today is the 180 day mark to our BLT check-in.

However, I made ADRs for 9/29 through 10/7. I didn't think the system would allow me to make reservations for any dates other than those covered by our BLT reservation. I got the email confirming the reservations with the confirmation numbers for each reservation.

I sort of thought the system would accept the reservation check in date plus 10 days. But I've seen posts saying it wouldn't work that I would have to make ADRs at two different times, one today for the BLT dates and then another 180 days before 10/3. Interesting don't you think?

BTW, to the OP, these 6 reservations took me less than 10 minutes to make including discussion time with my DH about what time I should choose. I think it's much easier than calling either the Dining line or MS.

Wow, this is interesting then. I actually check in on Oct. 2, staying in a concierge studio before moving to a 2 BR on Oct. 3. I will only be doing the DDP on the Oct. 3 check-in (for 6 nights). Wonder if I can make reservations on Monday, which is 180 days from Oct. 2? My first dining reservation isn't until Oct. 3. Would this make a difference? Does anyone know?

If you do online reservation on disneyworld.com it will allow you to make dining reservations 180 days from 10/2. If you call....the system sees you checking out on 10/3 so it will only allow you to make reservations for 10/2 and 10/3 if you call 180 days from 10/2.

The reason I know this is ...this happened to me this morning. We are doing a split stay and it would only allow me to make adr's until check out day. So after a bit of explaining and arguing I gave up...after venting on the dis a really nice dis-er told me to do it online and it would allow the 180 plus 10 days from the date of check in at the first resort.

Correct, if you link your reservation to the ADRs. It's the linking of the reservation that allows you to make the reservations at 180 days plus 10 more days.

I remember speaking to a Dining CM once while making ADRs during a 90 day period and mentioned that we were at two different resorts and should I use the other confirmation number for the the later dates? The answer was no it wasn't necessary as the ADR system does not affect the room reservation system. So I'm not worried about our reservations that I made using my first confirmation number even though some of the reservations are during the second resort's time period.

Do I acknowledge that I am on the DDP, since I will be for all our reservations, but I'm not on it for the first check-in?

I made my room reservations and ADR on the phone with MS. However, if I try to pull them up online, they do not recognize my confirmation numbers. Any idea why? TIA
