Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

I hung in there and, YUP, after 20 minutes more they came on. He was not in a hurry and even offered to fill the reservation I just had cancelled. I declined and said he had bigger fish to fry with the people in line after me!

My advice: If they put you on hold, you probably will get in.

Ugh, what a long wait! That's why I'll be up at 6am making that call at the start of the Disney day! When I called to make Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table reservations I didn't wait more than 20 before I had a CM. Hopefully tomorrow I will be as lucky!

Per Suebenjamin - On a positive note, agent was told that online ADR will be available March 22. Not sure if that is for everyone (ie general public) or just travel agents.


That was my thought exactly. I'll bet this "new" system is a move to online ADRs. If the airlines can have online frequent flyer reservations, why not Disney?

I can see the guest benefits of direct access to availability. In addition, Disney could use the online system to guarantee an ADR, with a credit card.

Awww crud.....I stayed on until 10:20 last night and then gave up after getting through twice only to get disconnected half way through both times by the new system!

I just have one more friggin ADR to make.....AUUUUUUGGGGGHHH!!!!!

On hold again right now.

How long do you usually have to hold to get through to an agent for ADRs? Been on hold for 20 minutes already....

Hold till they answer you want to get all your Adr's . You can be on hold for 5 min's or an hour. But it's worth the wait in my opinion. Good luck

The hold times are much longer than usual the past few days....they have a new reservation system.

I was on hold Sat for 1 hour
Sun for 2 hours
Monday for 50 minutes

I think the wait times are getting shorter, but I just wanted to prepare you.

The people that are having the long waits are due to the new reservation system which is having an impact on anyone making a reservation after May 25th.

I just made my ADRS and it was AWFUL!! I called at 7 am and was told no its not time for you to call yet...I told her it was she didnt want to hear it..I called back later and waited over a hour then I just called guest services to help me.
I got someone on the phone and they told me that they had NOTHING for lecellier (sp) I told her they did this a.m. when I called and got told no!She took down where I wanted to go and said she would call me back because it would take awhile because of their new system.She just called me back and I got all the places I wanted for june.I even have a le cellier for 6:30 pm after she told me there was nothing.I got ohana,kona,1900 park fare and chef mickey also...

If you guys used a Disney TA you would not be having these problems...they would do all the legwork for you. You can even transfer an existing reservation to one if you're that frustrated with the hold times...it would save you hours. I've got a great one! PM me if you like

So yesterday morning I called after WDW-DINE had been open about an hour. I waited on hold for 55 minutes!!! The amazing thing is that I got all of my ADR's within 10 minutes of what I was looking for. Do you think this waiting is the new thing with the 90 day booking window or do you think they'll iron out the kinks??

Anyway, here is what I got for the week of May 31st!!!
Most exciting is that it is all new places for us!!

Narcoosee's - dinner
Boma - breakfast (never been for breakfast!)
Spoodles - dinner
Turf Club - lunch
Sci Fi - Lunch
Kona - Dinner
Sanaa - Dinner
Artist Point - Dinner

I am really looking forward to trying all of these new (to me anyway) places!!

Glad you got all your choices!

We are going the same week you are. It took me 53 minutes total including wait time, but I have read many horror stories of much longer. It's the new dining reservation system that it still working out it's kinks. The 90 day window isn't the issue.

We were just lucky enough to be the guinea pigs!

On Sunday most people that were 90 days out from their vacation wanting to make ARD's for their vacation waited anywhere from 1 to 4 hours on hold for the "special department."
I myself waited one and half hours ... I called at exactly 7:00 am
