If We have 160 points at BLT and want a 1 bedroom for a week which totals up to 227 points. Am I able to make the reservation or do I have to borrow points first before I make the reservation?

The only way to borrow points is to do so in the process of booking a reservation that requires more points than you have currently available... so you'll be able to just make the reservation.

If you call MS to make the reservation, it will borrow the points as part of the process of making the reservation. If you go online to make the reservation, you choose the resort and dates you want, then learn whether they are available and then start the booking process and, on the page to choose contracts and points to apply, after you choose your existing contracts to apply to the reservation, it will allow you to borrow points to make the reservation.
