I'd like to have a pin bag. Nothing huge. Something I could carry in my normal Disney park touring tote. Problem is the little ones I've seen at the parks are just so darn expensive. Like 20 bucks or more - sheesh. I've been watching the good ole' ebay but not seen any from WDW only DL. :rolleyes2

So it got me pondering - has anyone here tried to make their OWN bag? And if you have what did you use? (Pics would be great too) I was contemplating making one out of a small pocket CD case - that could work right? Just get some thin foam and black (velveteen maybe) material and kinda make a sleeve for the pages that are already there... what'dya guys think?

Go to a big office supply store and buy a Mead zipper ring notebook. Also buy business card or trading card holders which will fit in the binder. Go to a luggage place to get a strap which will slide between the back of the binder and the outer shell.

Yes I've seen those people with those before. They're too big for what I'm looking for though. I want a small case, hence the idea of converting a pocket cd case. But thanks for your suggestion.

I tried making one out of a CD case -- the problem was that it was too thin to hold too many pins (on multiple pages) to zipper easily. You might want to try a scrapbooking bag -- I saw a couple of small (1/2 size) scrapbooking supply holders that might work. I'd try finding something with a ring binder inside so you could put fun foam pages or felt pages inside -- look at Joannes or Michaels.

That's an interesting idea. However after posting this I did some google hunting and realized that - DUH - there are other types of pins that people collect too.

So I found a generic plain back pin bag that I intend to buy before our trip in September. Found here (they have 2 sizes):

I also went a googling and found some awesome Disney patches out there. I plan to get a few to personalize the bag a bit. Even with buying a patch and the bag it'll still come to less than half of what they sell the same size bag for in the parks. :woohoo:

I'll post pics here once I finally get around to buying the stuff and doing it - but don't hold your breathe. :rotfl:

My DD12 has one of those. She likes it for carrying pins in the parks. It works well for her. :)

Good to know! :thumbsup2

I have some on the nicer side traders that I would like to carry 'just in case'.

I also don't like having pins on my lanyard unless they are 'up for trade', so when/if I get a new 'keeper' I'd like to have a small bag to put it in so it won't get damaged. And I can take a 'trader' out to replace it.

And I think that I think way to much about this addiction - erm 'hobby'...

That's basically what she uses hers for. She does wear 2 lanyards, one for traders and one for keepers but she also likes to carry the book. She does not carry it every day tho, she decides at the beginning of each day if she will take the book or just her backpack with extras in it. We keep our traders in Ziploc bags in other little baggies, we have loads of little jewelry size baggies and we drop our traders in there so they don't get all scratched up. :)
