I'm thinking we will have some counter service meals left and want to get some sandwiches from Earl for the trip home. We would get them right before we head back to our resort to board Magical Express. But realistically it would be 3-4 hours before we eat them. I was thinking ziplock bags filled with ice we get back at the resort, inside another disposable bag (like maybe a merchandise bag). Then once at the airport, ditch the ice before going through security and then eat at the gate before boarding. Do you think this will work? Any other ideas for keeping it cold/safe to eat hours later?

How about an instant cold pack? Like for sprained ankles and such. My dollar store has them in stock. When ready, just break the inner seal. Wrapped in a washcloth, should stay cool for a while.

Those would less messy with no melting!

How about taking a kids size lunch box with you on the trip. Use the instant cold pack and the sandwiches should stay cool till you get to the airport.

We travel with a small lunch box. We like to have cold drinks at the pool so we put some ice in it and our bottled water and held off to the pool.

If you use the 'dry' cold packs that you end up cracking and shaking, just know that you may be pulled over for a pat down at airport screening.( I was)
I had a couple in my carryon for tendonitis flareup.

Kids lunchbox and cold packs. My grandmother is too old to travel to Disney as much as she would like nowadays. She goes every once in a while and just has me bring her back a little snack when I've gone without her. The things she requests are so random sometimes, but usually its something that'll need to be picked up before I board the magical express and kept cold on my flight home. Though once she did ask for me to bring her five of the giant Mickey shaped rice krispies treats. The Main Street bakery packed them extremely well in a couple of boxes that I could take through airport security, but it was still weird when TSA opened them :rotfl2:

That's so sweet of you to bring things back!
Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we will bring a lunch bag since they can squish and fold down pretty small.
