I started this the other day and look forward to trying it on Thanksgiving Day!

Narsai's New Cranberry Liqueur

Yield about 3 cups

1 12 oz. pkg. cranberries (about 3 cups)
1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 lemon (juice only)
1 knob fresh ginger, 1 inch long, thinly sliced
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 cups 80˚ vodka

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until finely chopped. Pour into a 2 quart container. (A recycled milk bottle or yoghurt container is very handy.) Cover and set aside for at least 2 weeks.

*Line a colander with a tea towel and place it over a bowl. Strain through the cloth, and then twist it into a ball and squeeze it dry. Pour the liquid into an empty wine or liquor bottle . This is particularly pleasing when served freezing cold.

*The towel will stain, and may not wash out.

Haven't seen this before and we live in cranberry country (down the street from many Ocean Spray growers).
 
I'm on the South Shore of Mass. too, and haven't seen this, I'm going to give it a try! It would probably be nice to bottle up nicely for Christmas gifts, too....thanks!!
