Make-up wash cloth

I was on The Magic for the WBTA in Sept. and every night our stateroom host left me a black washcloth that had "makeup" embroidered on it.
I loved it, I bring make-up wipes, but was pleasantly surprised to find this.
This was our 19th cruise and the first time I have gotten the cloth.
Is this something new since February?

I don't recall seeing them on DCL in the past. Since they have white linens and towels, a black makeup cloth will cut down on messes on the other stuff.

We had that on the Fantasy in April. I am sure it is saving them from tossing white wash clothes that are stained with makeup.

We had those for part of a recent Fantasy cruise but it wasn't replaced one day. Asked our stateroom attendant and he said they had a shortage of them....my words not his as I don't recall his exact verbiage. Nice touch I think.

Did not have one in July on the Dream. But perhaps since I really don't do make-up (I hate polluting my face like that) my stateroom host realized he didn't need to leave one.

Wonder if the shortage is because DCL just didn't get enough or because people are taking them like they did with the red pillows and AP butter knives. Wouldn't surprise me to see them pop up on Ebay.

Great idea, except when I think about who might have used it and stained it before me. I mean, assuming the white ones are being tossed because they aren't coming clean, the black ones wouldn't come clean, either. We just cant see it. I'll have to think on this one.

I don't think it was that they were being stolen at that point. They were brand new to the ship and there just weren't enough yet although as I said I don't remember his exact words.

We just got off the Magic on Saturday and had a makeup cloth in our stateroom. I really enjoyed it and even the silver cursive stitching was magical.

I was thinking the same thing, I'll stick with my wipes.

The one in our cabin this summer came with make-up already on it! eek. We told the room attendance and he removed it. He said there was nothing special about it except for it being a different color. I'm also a little skeeved about what I can't see.
