Make sure you purchase your tickets or upgrade your AP before this weekend

Wow, the cost per additional day is jumping, especially for short trips: buying a third day currently costs $90 (difference between 3-day and 2-day pass), will now cost $116; buying a fourth day another $75 (currently $61); buying a fifth day $20 (currently $15). So the price hikes are concentrated on the longer trips - I guess Disney figures these are visitors who are likely to come no matter what, unlike the single-day visitors. Personally, while I've always bought as many days of admission as my trip lasts because the incremental cost was so small, I might just start planning on more all-resort days rather than going to a park every morning. My usual 4-day ticket is increasing $50!

Okay let me push this further: If we purchase a Gold Pass as a DVC member now, but delay our trips to November 2019 through October 2020, are we still good? It sounds like the multiday tickets have to be activated by a certain date - is that true of the Gold Pass?

Agree, I've given up even calling and asking them anything after getting just plain wrong information a couple of times. :rolleyes1

I called back again to verify.
She said I would be charged the higher price if I make a change to my tickets.
I told her I called yesterday and was told I was locked in at the old pricing.
She put me on hold and checked with Guest Relations> She came back and said she was wrong, the price would not change since I booked it before the price increase.

I have 7 day park hoppers I bought from UT. Is there anyway to upgrade them now to AP's or do I have to wait until I get to the parks?

If just two of us (not our three kids) want to upgrade, then do we have to wait until we check in?
You cannot do a package with AP tickets even if everyone wants them. The AP tickets would need to be purchased separately. Depending on your package and what offer you have you might be able to not have tickets but you can call and see if modifying your package to room (and dining) is possible and purchase the tickets separately.

No. At that point you would have the value of your voucher at the time of purchase that you would apply to current day pricing since the voucher if purchased today will have a 12/31/18 expiration date on it.

Thanks! I happened to have been on Disney's website and asked "Philomena" this same question when her chat window popped up. She replied, "I would be happy to assist you! Your "year" will start whenever you activate the pass. So, if there is a change of plans, your pass will not automatically activate itself." I suspect your answer is correct, and that she's incorrect about the word "whenever".

Well your pass isn’t active until you actually use it for the first time. It doesn’t become active at the time of purchase if you buy it online.

Right, but from what you said it is not true that our year will start "whenever" we activate the pass we're purchasing. At the very least, the information provided was very inadequate, especially since I specifically mentioned the possibility of activating the pass in February 2019 or November 2019.

Well whenever is based on the date the voucher must be redeemed by.

Can an AP room discount be applied when booking rooms in advance online even though the AP voucher has not been activated yet? I understand you must bring the activated AP with you to check-in to keep the discount.

This info is not correct. Ticket are non transferable once linked to your Account. Call Disney. You can have both on your account but need to have them labeled correctly.

Not true for unused tickets. You can transfer them to anyone on your friends and family list, including "placeholder" names.

Usually I’ve used a TA to book a room only AP rate when my AP wasn’t active when I booked.
