Hey all. Many cities hire people to work the polling places on Election day. I don't know the pay rates, because it varies according to the city or town. Call your local city hall and ask for the Election Department or whatever department is in charge of Polling places. I know here in my city you can do something as easy as checking peoples names in a book and handing them a ballot. For a day you get $125 and a two hour lunch break. It's actually kind of fun. There are also jobs with more responsibilty and more pay. Also there are local elections in many places so there may be a September election as well. It's an easy way to make some vacation money or Christmas money.

Just passing on the info.

In our township they pay $7.00 per hour for election inspectors. We don't get paid for our lunch break, though.

...I don't know what they get paid, but the election people here started, I think, when they were born. When they die the job is passed down to their heirs!

** no offense to anyone who IS an elections official! **
