Make me feel good about T-Rex

we were seated once in the section that is right beside the jellyfish towards the back against the wall and we enjoyed it cause we could really look around at everything. it was like a round booth. i know a lot of people like seating in the ice room but the colors that change all the time wasn't for me but it's cool looking from afar. we walked thru there to go to the bathroom. just don't seat me at a table in the middle of everything, our party likes booths.

i'm of the opposite side of this coin. i found it ONLY okay. the food was so so and the retaurant itself is very loud from client conversastions, not from any special things going on.
i thought that maybe this was a one off so we went back for a second time and i still found it just okay. nothing special at all imo. i do prefer the rain forest for both food and ombionse (sp).

Any special requests for seating? Are some rooms / tables better? We are looking for action and special effects. Thanks!

We sat in what we called the vegetarian-dinosaur room, and longed to be in the ice cave room. :)

Someone mentioned the Landry's Select Club...just to make sure it's all said, that is different from the Landry's Safari Club. Both offer priority seating, but it seems the Select Club gives greater benefits (though it costs more). Safari club is $10 until August 31 (you can only sign up for it AT a restaurant though!) and normally $15.

We love TRex!!!! As soon as we arrive at POR, we take the boat down for an awesome meal! The chicken there is really good.

We really enjoy T-Rex too. I agree that the food is much better than Rainforest Cafe. I had the fish tacos and they were yummy. The kids love it and it's become our first night at Disney dinner tradition.

We went on our arrival night last year and loved it!! My DS3 (who was only 2 at the time) always asks about going back and digging for dino bones. I had a salad that was literally the best salad I have ever eaten. I always bring it up when we are having salad.:rotfl: I can't remember what DH had, but he like whatever it was. The atmosphere was neat and kept the kids entertained.
We are looking forward to going back this year and have decided it is our new arrival night tradition! :wizard:

Trex is one of my DH (34) faves. We go almost every trip, we always arrive the day before we check into our WDW resort and stay at a DTD resort and do DTD and eat at TRex. DH gets the same thing every trip, the chicken fried steak, its amazing and Im not a chicken fried steak fan! Its absolutely HUGE and tender on the inside, crisp and light on the outside and seasoned to perfection!

Ive gotten the Paelozic sandwhich and the tribal tacos and the footprints pizza (off appys menu) and they are all great!

You got to get the cottontini, I get the tropical they have two other flavors and I love them! Plus when you order any cocktail you take home your glass or shaker.

The restaurant can be loud but there is so much to see! I say its a must do atleast once!! Atleast get an appy and a cocktail!

I am a twenty something and I loved TRex. The meals are huge and delicious and as a dino lover the atmosphere is great. It isn't a typical Disney meal with characters or anything but I enjoyed it.

I do not blame your sister for wanting to go T-Rex. I am 20 years old and my family and I are planning to go there in a few weeks. My 24 year old brother seems to be more excited about T-Rex than I am. I am a very picky eater so I think it will be nice to eat somewhere on property (with a nice atmosphere ;)) where I have more than one option on food (other than CS). I hope you, your sister, and the rest of your family enjoy T-Rex! :thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I admit, we first visited T Rex for the kids, but I really liked it.

Fun atmosphere, nice wait staff and the food was good. The worst thing is the price. Next time I am going to order the sliders app. and an order of fries for the kids to eat. Each kid can have a burger and fries and we will save some $$$ on the final bill.

We love T-Rex - great atmosphere, and we like the food there. It is a lot better than Rainforest. Yummy! We will be going there on our next trip - it's become a last meal of the trip tradition.
