Hello,
I was curious if anyone has ever taken a trip to WDW with Make a Wish?? We were planning a trip to Disney in March and my youngest has decided that this is what he wants his wish to be. If anyone has, I would love to hear any details about what we might expect. He wants to stay in the monorail hotel, CR, because he loves trains. If anyone has any information that they could share I would appriciate it.

Thanks,
Melissa:earsgirl:

My nephew and his family went last October with the make a wish. I believe they stayed at a special make a wish hotel off property that was wonderful. I know they had special passes and didn't have to wait in lines, and had VIP seating for all the shows. They also went to Universal and Sea World and had special passes. They said it was an unbeilveable trip.

There are several threads on the disABILITIES forum about Make A Wish and Give Kids the World.

Hi,
Friends of ours just returned from a "wonderful" time.
I'm not sure of the name of the resort they stayed at, but it is for Make a Wish folks, off site.
From what our friends said, the resort sounds really nice.

Happy Planning:)

Thanks for the information I will try the DISabilities forum!!!

Thanks,

My cousin used her "Make a Wish" to stay at Disney. I believe the program generally uses the Celebration Hotel. However, my cousin asked to stay at Polynesian and her "wish" was granted.

They said it was a wonderful trip. VIP lines and treatment everywhere. I think there were vouchers for all the food - I don't have the details, but my aunt said they had plenty of everything. They also went to Universal and Island of Adventure and had the same VIP treatment there. I even think they went from their house to the airport in a stretch limo.

Make-a-wish does wonderful things for sick children.

My nephew went to WDW YEARS ago through the Make A Wish Program, and they had a blast! Geez, it was back in the 80's, but they were treated like royalty. Sorry I can't give you any more info, for I don't remember where they stayed, etc, but I know you'll be treated the best! It's an awesome program.

The off-site hotel that is usually used is Give Kids the World Village. It was set up speciafically for granting wishes and is an awesome place.
From what I have read, at times when GKTW is full, they do use other hotels. Sometimes, they will grant a wish to stay at a specific WDW resort, but it apparently depends on the specific state wish granting organization (and probably what their resources are - I'm sure it is most cost effective for them to have kids stay at GKTW).
If you do a search on the disABILITIES Board, you will find some past threads about Make a Wish and Give Kids the World if there are no threads currently showing.
