We sail in six days and my brother in law can't sail with us due to work reasons. My sister and BIL booked a OGT with just the two adults so we don't believe we can just switch him out for another person. I just don't know if we should call DCL and cancel just him or just have him be a no show. My sister still wants to go and have her cabin. There's no way DCL wouldn't let her cruise right? We're flying to San Juan to get the ship. It's not like they can or would turn her away because her husband didn't show.

Anyone have experience or suggestions??? Thank you!!

Don't cancel him, they won't let you anyway with an OGT rate. Just show up and have her say he couldn't make it. She can sail.

You can't cancel or change a passenger with an OGT rate, but she will be able to sail alone.

I hope she has travel insurance, so she can get his portion of the trip cost reimbursed.

Thanks all!! Very helpful. We will just tell them at the port. She does have insurance but it doesn’t cover that issue.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if the person is a no show, isn't he/she refunded port fees? What about taxes? Maybe an expert can chime in.

You may be able to change the person in the stateroom for a 50. fee. I needed to make a name change after final payment. There was no fee as I did it about 60 days before sailing. I was told if it is 45 days or sooner to sailing, there is a fee. Don't know how it works this close to sailing or if last minute air is even possible.

On the last minute guarantee rooms, there are no changes allowed.

I've never done a GTY so I guess I am wrong for this situation. I know I was allowed to make a name change after final payment which I never in 13 cruises had to do and didn't think I could. I was very surprised at the fee ( that I didn't need to pay due to the timing) which was only 50.

A regular GTY reservation can do a name change, as it's not a reduced fare.

The last minute *GT bookings are reduced fares and have restrictions on them.

No changes whatsoever allowed on the GT rates. So he can't cancel and she can't substitute someone else. She will have the luxury of having the whole room to herself! That isn't something that probably happens a lot on a Disney Cruise!
