Makahiki Luau Dinner Show Question..

We are flying in 2 days prior to our Disney cruise, and I wanted to surprise my kids with a fun dinner show. This past summer when we did the Disney Cruise..took the Disney Magic to Mexico I surprised them with the Medevil dinner show and we all LOVED it. I wanted something a little diffrent this time. Any comments [good or bad] would be welcomed

Last June we went to the Makahiki Luau at Sea World. We got a great discount through mousesavers.

We enjoyed the food and entertainment. Included in the Luau fee, we got free parking, and were allowed into the park at 5 and stayed until 10. During this time we rode Journey to Atlantis, saw many animal exhibits and stayed for Shamu Rocks and fireworks.

We felt that it was a great deal.

Wow - that's a terrific deal! Is it normal for park entrance to be included? Or did you have a special package ? The SeaWorld website says that park admission must be purchased seperately.

That is an incredible deal!!! We were considering going to the Makahiki Luau in Feb. I thought the Luau fee was in addition to park admission. Did you purchase your tickets from Sea World or on-line? I'd love to find this deal for my family.

We called 1-866-781-1333 and asked for the mousesavers discount. They gave us $8 off each person. They give you a confirmation number - that is all you need. (To find this discount we went to Mousesavers dining page, got the link to Orlando Coupons, then went to thier dining page and clicked on Makahiki Luau.)

Park admisiion is not required. Just drive up to the gate and give the confirmation number. They let us through w no parking fee. The eariest we could enter the park was 5:00 for a 6 o'clock luau. Since we got to the parking lot at 5 - we found a space close to the entrance.

Then we gave the confirmation number again at the park entrance. Once we were in we toured around a bit. We checked in at the Luau podium about 5:45 and we were seated prompty at 6.

The luau lasted 2 hours. At 8 we went on some rides and saw some exhibits. Then we went to the Shamu show. Afterwards we did some shopping and watched the fireworks show. The park closed at 10 that night.

Do you know if there is a deal for a combonation rate to do the park for most of the day, and then go to the Luau? I think my kids would LOVE the shows and some of the rides. Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but try the Orlando Coupons link (through Mousesavers). They have a code there for discount tickets. I don't know if it is good deal or not. They might have better offers on the Sea World site...

We liked the entertainment and food at this luau far better than the one we attended in Hawaii. The entertainment was quite authentic, and the food was fine. You'll sit at communal tables, so if that's a concern be prepared.

With 7 of us going..including 4 kids...8 year old twin boys... I'm affraid it won't be us with the concern..but others that are sat with us should be concerned.
