Makahiki character dining questions

Has anyone recently done the character breakfast AND character dinner at Makahiki? I booked our dining reservations way back when there wasn't a character dinner option listed for our dates. Of course now there is! We are eating dinner there at least once, and I have a second res at the end of the week in case we love it. But one res is not a character day, and the other for 6:30, which is after the character dining is over. I'm not sure if it's worth it to switch around dates/times if the characters are the same as at the breakfast. And yes, I know it's expensive, but my crew eats me out of house and home, so buffets are never that bad of a deal for us.

We did the character "mischief" dinner last month. There was a photo op with Donald after check-in then the characters that came around to tables were Stitch, Chip and Dale. There is also a show of sorts with Uncle that goes on around the restaurant. We did the character breakfast the same morning and the photo op was with Mickey and Minnie and Goofy came to the tables (Auntie was the entertainment). I'm generally not a huge buffet fan but I have to say it was the best breakfast buffet I've ever done at a Disney property. Dinner was good too.

Dang it, now I think I might have to go shuffle a dinner res around! :) Totally different characters = way to sucker us into both, Aulani, LOL!

At Aulani now. We did Makahiki breakfast yesterday - was super impressed with food as well as entertainment. Characters are same as LittleStinkerbelle mentioned above. This is a really great character experience for young children with lots of fun with Aunty.

We have the Menehune Mischief dinner planned for later this week and will we will be talking about both on our podcast.

Just an FYI - as mentioned the dinner ends in June and there is currently no information as to when it will come back, if at all.

Thanks! Will there be a post on the Aulani page to point us to the podcast?

If not, just mark you calendar for Tuesday at 1:00 pm (Eastern) on the 24th I'm guessing. It was mentioned on the last podcast that John and Kevin would be traveling and thus not on the weekly podcasts for two weeks.

I loved watching the Aunty Aloha video that John and Kevin posted. I can't wait to see more. We will be at Aulani for the 2nd time in June. I can't wait.

I now understand that while there will no doubt be some mention of the Aulani experience on that show there will be a more in-depth review on a special episode.

Ok. We arrive next week, so I don't think the special episode will be aired in time for us (the 24th was cutting it close). I'm going to assume what LittleStinkerbelle said is accurate all the time and booked accordingly. :)

Its a good assumption.
