Major Woody's 10 Night May '03 TR
Who :
Bill, age 44, NYSP Investigator, AP Holder, and veteran of numerous WDW trips ( last one 12/02)
Jenn, my oldest daughter, age 20, AP holder, last trip 12/02
When :
May 19 thru May 29, 2003
Where :
Coronado Springs, my 3rd stay, Jenn's 2nd at CS
Preamble :
Hello all,
I planned this trip in early Spring, using the AP holder rate for Coronado Springs. Originally we had a rate of $94 a night using a code found online, and when they announced the lower AP rate of $74 a night, we were able to get in on it. I ended up saving around $225 with the lower rate. The total with tax came to $825 for 10 nights, an excellent rate for a moderate. I had booked our flights on Jet Blue, out of JFK, and that came to $330 r/t for the two of us. I kept checking www.mousesavers.com for rental car discounts, and finally ended up with a fantastic rate at Alamo for $161 ( that's the total price) for a full size car, for 11 days. Our plan was to hit the theme parks, Pleasure Island, the Disney outlet stores, and also to make it to Daytona for one day. I had also made plans to visit Daytona Beach Community College, as Jenn wanted to visit it and see if it was worth attending. We also wanted to catch The Turtles with Flo & Eddie at the Flower Power concerts at Epcot, and enjoy the topiaries at Epcots Flower & Garden show. Three days before we left, I sent a fax to the room assigner at Coronado, asking for either Bldg 7A, 8A, or 9B, and a no smoking corner room. I asked for those buildings as they are all close to the main pool, and all are relatively close to the main building. In addition, I have stayed at Casitas Bldg 3 on both of my previous stays at Coronado, and felt it was time to try a different section. 8A & 9B are in Cabanas section, while 7A is in Ranchos.
Stay tuned for Day 1.....
Take care,
Bill
