I am majorly annoyed!!

Whilst ive been trying to plan a trip to the sunshine state next summer, i have had some not very good news!

We have been invited to a wedding in Kos next summer, which is costing 700quid each for a week!

This obviously means that going to florida is now extremely unlikely. To say i am sad is an understatement!

In saying that, the trip to Kos is all inclusive so i wont need to take much money with me, so maybe i should be thinking i need to find an extra 700 quid for this, rather than find an extra 2k for florida!

I know the feeling. I bet your gutted! Kos just ain't Orlando, but I bet you'll have a good time anyway.

We go atleast twice a year but I was devestated (well not that bad really. LOL) when my mother said she was planning on getting married next year, when we were already planning on Orlando and a cruise.:guilty:

I can't think of many people I would be prepared to spend £2800 (4 in my family x £700) to attend their wedding, I have to say. Maybe I am just mean but I would tell them I couldn't make it as I was already planning on Orlando.

I agree, WDW wins, hands down.

It's simple, if they want you there get them to pay. Extremely selfish to expect people to splash out so much for THEIR wedding.

they didnt though. they didnt invite anybody. they toldd people where the wedding was, how much it was, and said it was up to us, no pressure whatsoever.

It was my girlfriend who was so desperate to go.

I think that's a little bit harsh!! Speaking from experience I have been to a few weddings abroad and no-one demanded we go, we went because they were close friends or family and they mean alot to us. They will only get married once :confused3 hopefully!! LOL but disney will always be there.:woohoo:

Last year for our own wedding we also didn't invite anyone as we didn't want people to feel preasured and had an open invite for everyone. (well that was until we reached 30 and then we were like Ok that's enough people) I would never of expected anyone to come.

OK, apologies, your original post was a little vague on the details. £700 still sounds expensive for a week in Kos but I think your idea of finding the extra for this elsewhere instead of your WDW budget sounds the best idea.

Show them how great a Disney wedding would be! Kills 2 birds with one stone then:cool1:

I think I'd make my apologies and explain that I'd already booked Florida. There's no comparison really, but I guess it really depends on what you think of the bride and groom!!

my gran died a couple of months ago. she left me a fair bit of money which im getting this week.

i think she would like if i used it to go see mickey and co since she knows how much i love it!!

thanks gran!
