Major Policy Change Today at DVC/DCL

Please read Here for the story.

CarolAnnC:

I hate to hear that for you.

I don't know how possible it is to take this up the chain...I would definitely try in your situation.

It seems like either DCL should make an exception in your case...or DVC should make an exception about your reservation status.

This eerily smacks of what happened on the 1st few days of the charging for valet parking.

DVC should write a new policy that deals with how to equitably deal with situations when policies change that leave the member caught in the cross hairs.

I believe ALL new policies should go into effect at least 3 weeks after notice is given, and much farther in advance (many months) for situations like you described.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for your kind words. You know, you are right. It is one thing to change the policy, but I was actively trying to make this rebooking, but for the problem with their computers on Sunday, it would have been a done deal.

But, they are inflexible. This is going to leave a bad taste for many DVC members who may be impacted by this sudden change in policy. :(
