Major news from Old Town

I remember when Old Town first opened in Kissimmee...it was just an old fashioned street with some great themed shops and restaurants, and a carousel at the end of the street...

My how times have changed (for better or worse, you can decide, read on)

Now, years later they're practically their own amusement park, with a rollercoaster, several other rides, a go-kart track, etc.

And now, the time has come, confirmed a bit by pictures at Screamscape.com, that Old Town, of all places, will be housing the FASTEST ride in the world.

A new dragster attraction that will send people from 0 to 130 miles per hour in 2 seconds.

Yes, I typed that correctly, zero to one hundred and thirty mph in two seconds.

It is an S&S Prototype which has made a few other rollercoasters, but "only" so far reached 107 mph, on a coaster in Japan.

This will be HUGE

When will that attraction be open? We visit Old Town every trip.

Nothing official, but Screamscape predicts possibly within 6 to 8 weeks.

Since the setup for this doesn't seem to be too complex and that the cars are already sitting there in pics, I wouldn't be surprised by that.

We go to Old Town on every trip too. The last trip my DD and DGD (EIGHT years old!!) went on the Sky Coaster! And they bought the video to prove it! (My heart stood still as I watched from the ground!) On two separate trips we've also had our photos taken in the old fashioned clothes....lots of fun.
