I was trying to find a list of the maintaince fees currently, as compared to in the past. If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Rounding to the nearest penny, here are the dues for 2000/2001/2002/2003 by each resort.;)

OKW - $3.16/$3.13/$3.22/$3.39
BWV - $4.02/$3.83/$3.92/$4.10
HHI - $3.26/$3.32/$3.49/3.69
VB - $4.08/$3.98/$4.17/$4.37
WVL - NA/$3.63/$3.80/$4.05
BCV -- opened at $3.77/$3.97

Thanks from me, too, Nick!! You have given me another reason for why I need points from OKW. :grouphug:

Wow! I didn't realize that VB was cheaper than OKW till 2002, then the fees jumped by $1 per pt in one year--ouch! That's something to think about if you are considering purchasing VB points:eek:

VB was subsidized until 2002 and then in 2003 the subsidy came off. That is why you saw such a large increase. It actually only went up $.20 from prior year's unsubsidized rate.

It is my understanding that the subsidy was to encourage sales.

Vero did subsidize early purchasers. The reasoning was that a small group would be paying to run the facilities for an entire resort (even the part that was never built). All guides and paperwork were very clear about when the subsidy would end and that it might not be continued. They detailed what the cost with and without the subsidy would be. As time went on the level of subsidy for new purchasers decreased until it was non-existent. By the time my subsidy ended, the increase wasn't too hard to swallow.

People seem to be glossing this over for some reason.

VB is only a shadow of its original plan. They did know that a large part of the resort was dependent on interest, so they paid the dues on that part for a long time.

When it became apparent that there was no interest in VB, they cut the plans for "The other side of the Road" and officially announced that the subsidy would be ending.

Sales were so slow that they cut the scope and size of "this side of the road" also.

Sales at VB and HH were so dismal that Disney divested itself of at least one officially announced resort and at least one more piece of land not officially announced as a new DVC resort.

There was even a period that they were giving away free VB points with breakfast at Olivia's.
