Ok, you guys might think I am nuts, but I am sooooo happy I maintained this week!!!!!

Some of you may remember that I am a queen of yo-yo dieting. I have been doing WW---- on one week, off the next, gaining back all that I lost the first week.

Well, 2 weeks ago my mom joined with me. I did great last week and lost 6# and then I was sooooo worried about this week. I did relax a little, and didn't journal, but I maintained my loss and couldn't be happier!!!! Hopefully this cycle is broken. My mom got her first 5# bookmark, and I think we will have a friendly competition going, which will be really good for us!

This reemphasizes that I have to journal. But, in the meantime I am doing the happy dance!!!!

Congrats on maintaining!!! There are weeks when maintaining means more to me than other weeks when I actually lose.

Journaling is important!

I used to think it was a waste of time and that as long as I kept track of my points it really should not matter. I was using the points calculator each day so I knew I was keeping track correctly. I lost weight but somehow when I started religiously journaling I lost more weight. Coincidence? Maybe but I really feel that somehow forcing myself to write down every little thing that I put in my mouth helps. Without journaling I think I averaged around 1 pound loss per week but with journaling it was a little over 1.5 pounds per week. That extra .5 pound adds up over the months and a little extra time spent journaling is sure worth losing an extra 2 pounds of so a month. Just think that could be an extra 24 pounds in a year just from journaling.

I'm proud of you, PrincessV. Maintaining is a good thing! It proves that once you have lost the weight you want to lose you will be able to keep it off forever.

Good for you maintaining your weight this past week and congratulations to your mother, too.

You can do this, she can do this, I can do this....we can all do this. We can do it together and knowing that I'm not in this by myself has really been a great encouragement for me.
