Maint fees are due Jan 1 regardless of month of use?

I guess it evens out somehow but February use year (no January right?) pays dues same time December use year does although it gets points 11 month earlier?

Dues are based on the calendar year and not use year. So for dues it's January through December.

Assuming you originally purchased from Disney, remember the maintenance fees you paid at that time were pro-rated for the rest of the calendar year. You didn't pay fees for 12 months.

If for example you have an August Use Year, then when you originally purchased you paid for 5-months fees. (Aug-Dec), then in January you paid 12 months fees. Everything is by calendar year.
