anyone know how i can get my maintenance fees to be automatically charged to a credit card or deducted from my checking account each month? is this done through MS or some other group? :confused3

Contact Member Services. They'll help you. We have ours deducted from Checking every month. It is so easy this way.

We were told that monthly auto-deductions could not be done with credit cards, only from Bank/checking accounts. It is my understanding that there is no fee for this - just the yealy Maint. Fee divided by 12 months.

As someone else indirectly pointed out, it is very important to distinguish between the entities that we have to deal with as owners. Though in general you can reach most of the offices through phone prompts by calling the MS phone number, Member Services, Member Accounting, and Member Administration have different functions and are really different entities. As is the sales arm. In this case, Member Accounting is who you need to contact.

That is correct, at least for U.S. owners.

Canadian owners can't pay monthly. Trust me I tried. Getting that bill right after Christmas hurts.

Don't know if this is the case now but when we bought, agreeing to auto-deduct got us a percentage reduction on our loan.

along these same lines......

If you finance with Disney and have it auto deducted do you HAVE to pay dues this way to . I was hoping to pay dues all at once then pay monthly loan payment.

Thanks

Also worth mentioning that you can instruct accounting to deduct more than you owe on your monthly loan payment. If you can swing, say, an extra $50 or so per month and have it auto-deducted, you'll save thousands of dollars over the life of the loan and finish paying it off much earlier.

you can pay it all at once. every year they will send a statement for the amount due and if you have the automatic decuction, it will keep taking out the dues, but the amount will change. You can also opt to pay the full amount or any amount in between, which would adjust the amount you pay monthly. Also on the web site you can pay it. My DVC has 2 different contracts and I can pay the whole amount for both or pay one of the accounts if I wanted to.

Thanks for the tip, rocketriter. I will have to remember that if/when I buy this month. :)

This is only if you get your loan amount auto-deducted not your dues.
