Getting ready for our big trip and I was wondering...

What are the options available to "ride" up Main Street? How do you hail a carriage? Any other modes of transport there?

TIA,
Risy

When they are running, the carriages, omnibus, and horse drawn trolleys stop and pick up passengers on the circles in front of the Main Street Station and the Castle. You don't hail them, you get in line.

The scenes you see in the commercials of the happy family riding the carriage up main street are filmed before the park opens. The vast majority of guests proceed up and down Main Street on shank's mare (on foot). That way you have the leisure to stroll and browse all the shops that line both sides of Main Street. The pedestrian traffic is usually so dense there really isn't much room for anything else.

1) The trolley and car stops are identified.
2) Just stand in line at the sign-posts.
3) These are located in the circles at the train station and castle.

On the subject...How much are the carriage rides?
Are you sitting down, because I'm going to use a word seldom used in relation to Walt Disney World. They're FREE! ;)
All of the Main Street transportation is included in the price of admission.

I do remember riding the trolleys back in the 70's - it was one of the few things you could use an "A" ticket on!:teeth:

:faint:

Excuse me...did you say Free? :earseek: Shocking...yet wonderful!

How hard is it to snag one...give it to me straight. My DS would LOVE this for his Birthday...should I dream? :hyper:

I've only seen the rides during times of low crowds. During Easter week it would be way too crowded to make it through the masses on Main St.

A couple years ago we were going to breakfast at the castle before the park opened. A CM near a firetruck asked us if we were going to the castele. When we said yes, he said hop in, and gave us a ride up Main St. The kids loved ringing the bell.

We have a PS for CP before the park opens! That is my DS's birthday...wouldn't that be great? :hyper:

Look early in the morning on less-crowded days. The horse-drawn streetcars do not run after 2pm, as the tracks are covered with rubber strips in some spots to keep the parade floats from getting stuck.
