Hi,
My family and I will be visiting Disneyland 5/31-6/2, and I'm trying to figure out what time we should arrive at the park. I've read online that Disneyland will allow people to go on Main St prior to the official park opening time. Is this true, and if so, do they do this every day? How does magic mornings affect this?

If we are admitted onto Main St prior to opening, how does the ticketing/security check work? Will we have to line up at the official opening time to go through security, or will they do that prior to letting us onto Main St?

Thanks!
Nita

You go through Security before you get to the ticket booths and park gates.

On days that don't have Morning Magic, they usually do Rope Drop. On the Rope Drop Mornings, usually Monday and Wednesday and Friday, guests can enter the gates about 30 minutes early. The rope is at the Hub end of Main Street. So you can walk upto it and go in the shops along main street.

They sometimes let you in but there is a rope across the top of main street so you can't get through. It's called the "rope drop". They have little openings down the side for magic morning people to go through.

To ensure we are there for rope drop on non-MM days, what time do we need to arrive? We'll be doing MTTMM but slipping by SM to get a FP along the way.

I was there Wednesday of last week. We got there around 8:50, Main Street was blocked at the hub. We were about halfway down Main Street when the opening announcement was made. We headed straight for Peter Pan and it was already about a 15 minute wait.

I'm assuming park opening was 9 for that day. What time did you get to security for this?

Yes, opening was 9:00 (May 4). There wasn't much of a line at security (we went through the one by LeBrea Bakery), I'd guess 8:40-8:45. Short line at the gate too. The crowds were low that day.
