Main St. at night

We are doing DHS til 5 on our first park day and I'm hoping to head over to MK around 8-9 and go until close (12am). Our goal is to do a few rides then catch the 10Wishes and 11MSEP and do PFH before heading out. My thing is that I picture Main St being wall-to-wall people for the 9MSEP making it hard to get back to any of the rides. The absolute last thing I want to do is annoy other guests by weaving in and out of the crowd. Is there ANY way to avoid the crowd or should I adjust my schedule to get there earlier?

They sometimes open a backstage pathway to bypass the crowds on Main St.
No way to know if that will happen on your night.

Arriving earlier would cure the situation.

I've never done it myself but I would think you could also cut through the shops to get the majority of the way through since they are all connected. You'll still have to fight the crowds some but not as much.

Cut through the shops if the bypass isn't open. They all connect.
