I just received the following letter from Disney & thought I'd pass it along:
August 2004
Dear Disney's Old Key West Resort Guest,
We are delighted you have selected Disney's Old Key West Resort as your vacation destination!
In order for Disney's Old Key West Resort to continue to flourish as a magical destination, it is necessary for us to make enhancements from time to time.
If you have stayed with us before, you are most likely familiar with our recreational facilities. Based on the feedback we have received from our members and Guests, we are excited to tell you that we will be adding a themed slide to the Main Pool at the Hospitality House. Beginning September 6, 2004, the main pool area, including the spa, kiddie pool, and playground will be closed to Guests so we may begin a refurbishment effort. We expect the work to be completed by mid-December.
For your convenience, we are providing you with some water recreation options during your stay. You may wish to visit the Turtle Pond swimming area, or one of our other leisure pools, as they will remain open and available for your enjoyment. Also, The Turtle Shack snack bar will be open daily featuring a variety of food and beverage selections. In addition, the Disney Vacation Club Ferry will provide complimentary transportation to the pool facilites at the new Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort during this refurbishment period. You are welcome to contact a Front Desk or Guest Services Cast Member for schedule information.
