On the recent micechatter video she mentioned and showed picture of the main gate turnstyles under construction. Is this true, should we go about entering in a different way than usual to get through at a quick speed. We will be in the park in 3 days.... can't wait.

From what I've read, they're working on only one set of the turnstyles, not all of them.

They're currently working on the east turnstiles. The west ones are still open. Over the weekend on pretty busy days it was no problem to enter DL.

Will they be changing all of them? What do the new turnstyles look like? Just curious. :)

Just as an FYI - it's spelled "turnstiles". Not to be spelling cop or anything, but the spelling bug (where a typo or unknowingly misspelled word is repeatedly misspelled) seemed to be contagious in this thread. My browser's spell-check is catching it.

You should have no problem entering the gates, they only work on a section at a time. The turnstiles have the same look, but has a new paint job. Looks nice and shiny!

HTH,

Thanks for the information about the turnstiles and the spelling correction. I'm careful with autocorrect as sometimes you can get some wacky words popping up in posts!

Why would you have your browser set to spell-check other people's writing?

If you do web work, you might have a plugin/extension for that just turned on all the time, because you have to edit online content. Just a possibility. :)

It would be nice if they got rid of those old 3 bar type that smack my grandkids in the back of the head if they aren't fast enogh.

On a related topic... I was at DL last week, and from this WDW vet's perspective, I wondered if DL turnstiles were always that slow?

Mostly medium to long lines compared to WDW, but the DL lines were so sloooow. Was I just unlucky getting clueless guests (that didn't understand the concept of a valid ticket) in front of me? (Although all lines moved slowly)
Was it just the fact that the center turnstiles were closed?
Is it normal to have a pre-turnstile CM checking for a photo ID or taking your picture with a smartphone?

It just seemed off that a more simple, barcode only ticket caused more delay and trouble than a fancy magnetic strip and a "fingerprint"

Shows up when I quote something. I abandoned the quote though before posting.

I would have thought it would have shown up in the OP's original message as well as some of the followups.

The lack of turnstyles might have had something to do with it. The pictures/ID are normal operating procedure for any multi-day ticket, I believe. It's a procedure that was put in place to combat ticket resellers.
