I received a fold out flyer that said "Ready to play - start planning your Disney Vacation now".

When I opened it, it had a per night price for each (value, moderate, deluxe) and the dates which I had selected online underneath so it looked like an offer for my dates. It told me to call and make sure I quoted package code H4A.

I thought it was odd ... it wasn't a pin code and also the prices they quoted didn't seem like an offer so why did I need to quote a package code :confused3

Of course, I called them up and they told me that it was NOT an offer. I told them it was a bit unfair as they had made it look like an offer and got me excited, it was very un-Disney to trick me like that. She told me to hold the line for a moment. She was gone for a couple of minutes.

When she came back she apologised about the 'wording' of the flyer and could see why I would think it was offer, however, if it made me feel any better, this was a Stage 1 mailing and I should receive a Stage 2 mailing shortly. What does that mean, I ask. She tells me that the Stage 2 mailing will most likely have an offer so make sure I look out for it. I ask what she means by 'most likely' and she says she cannot guarantee that any offers will be released but I should definitely look out for the Stage 2 mailing and not ignore it.

Just thought I would share that :thumbsup2

What is the H4A then? Why bother listing those 3 digits? Just to get people to call and book that don't know any better I guess.

Stay positive something might be coming your way!!! :thumbsup2

Every package type, even at rack rates, has a 3 digit/leter code. I's how Disney keeps track of mailings, promos etc. in their system. There's even codes for "nothing special" and different resort categories. It might reflect that it's booked from a flyer sent out, from a certain region of the country, etc.

I just got the same "offer" in the mail too today! I can't believe they're still sending out "offers" that truly offer nothing. I used the website it gave to price out a quote but it was quoting the exact same amount I see rack-rate. These marketing people are driving me nuts!

I know - and if you look, the mailing is designed like a board game and to the right it has an arrow pointing to 'resort offer' which makes it seem even more like an offer!

However, be excited about the fact the CM told me it was a 'stage 1' mailing and that 'stage 2' shouldn't be ignored :thumbsup2

I think what frustrates me the most is that we received almost the exact same mailing the week before that was an actual pin code. It has the exact same gameboard design with the same "GAME ON, **** Family" at the top. Everything looks identical. The only difference is that the "non-offer" says "RESORT OFFER" on the gameboard and the true pin code offer (which is for stays through most of December) says "SPECIAL OFFER" on the gameboard. And, of course, it has a true pin number while the other one says to mention the package code. Why would they call the package code one a "RESORT OFFER" if they're not truly offering anything.

Anyway, I am hoping your CM is right and that it means that we'll get a Stage 2 mailing like you mentioned. I only hope my Stage 2 mailing didn't accidently arrive before my Stage 1 mailing!! :rotfl:

I Just recieved the exact same thing in the mail with the H4A code!!!!!!!!! I got sooooo excited when I saw the dates I had been searching for on the Disney website, but was then quickly confused when it didn't say what the offer was for! :confused3 This is a bad joke! I will call Disney as well and see if I can find out any more info. Fingers crossed for something REAL in the mail from Disney!

I got the exact same mailing a few weeks ago! "Resort Offer-20% off selected resorts during the month of May." Let's see, Disney....I think the general public offer is 30% off selected deluxe resorts, 20%-25% off selected mods..........:confused3

UPDATE:

So I finally recieved the second stage mailing like the original CM said and this time it has a personal PIN.

Its for dates in December (1st - 20th) and is a stay/play/dine offer.

Example based on VALUE resort: Book 5 nights and park tickets & QS dining are included for $577 per person add a junior (age 10-17) for just $277. It says its a 23% saving.

I still have to crunch the numbers but thought I would let you guys know.

I got the same offer and mailing but no follow up. I spoke with a cm last week and she said I had an offer but would not be able to see it in the computer till the 12th. Of corse I called on the 14th and was told by another that they did not see anything and have no idea why I was told that!

FYI: it was for free QS only even with a mod resort so I upgraded to regular dining. Quickest way to explain it is I paid for the resort & tickets and the dining plan came to $100 per person for 7 days
