it depends what you are sending, weight wise, it is quite expensive mailing items back.
Personally i would pay for an extra case, and just bring what you want in it up to 23kgs

We have done several years ago (a bathroom cabinet - don't ask!)

We did it from the post office - it was quiet expensive. You also need to mark as a gift to avoid customs charges.

You can get a price online if you know size and weight http://ircalc.usps.gov/

Not sure how the gift/merchandise works, I had some Disney pins sent over, seller entered gift but I was still charged import duty.

One trip we decided to post home a parcel (large shoebox size) of some rather heavy items that we'd bought, because we were running very close to the weight limit on our cases. Used the post office in the Mall at Millenia and it cost about $12 for Priority Mail and the goods arrived home the same day we did. Given the weight, I thought that was pretty good value.

We would do it again if we had a similar situation, but usually we have enough capacity in the cases to take it home the normal route, so it's not like it's something we'd need to do every trip.

Iv only posted letters and a small package all from the last time when we stayed at AKLV.NONE OF THEM were delivered at home including the one I posted to the courts in kissimee.:confused3 I remember when I handed them into the CM he looked at the court letter funny and I watched him as he went into the back and I saw him show it to someone else.Very strange how 2 postcards,a package to a friend addressed to the UK and my court letter never arrived.:confused3
I did have a large snowglobe a few years back and the disney store in the airport were most unhelpful as they sold it to me knowing I was about to go through security not mentioning (And I didnt think) it was full of fluid and they wouldnt let me through. Because I told the security what had happened and they saw the reciept they allwed me to go back down and put it on the plane free of charge with a fragile label on it.Anything for a sale hey:rotfl:

we've posted stuff from WDW. First time we did it we bought a Minnie Mouse Christmas tree topper (ever made the mistake of walking in the Christmas shop and telling your children they can choose any one ornament as their going home treat only for them to choose a two foot hight Xmas tree topper :( ) Anyway we got a price for shipping and it was fairly reasonable but can't remember exact cost.

Also, a couple of times we have bought presents for my cousin's two boys who live in Australia. Shipping from WDW to Australia is about the samme as UK airmail so it makes sense for us to send direct.

The worst thing about posting home is the customs and handling fee you may get hit with.
