mailing store

We are heading to DL in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone knows if there is one of those Mailing Stores nearby? In case I go shopping crazy I thought I might need to mail some stuff back home to Canada.

I know that World of Disney will ship orders. I think the Disney Hotels may offer mailing service too.

Most of the stores in Disney will ship for you. I asked them for a box and they said they didn't have any, but if I wanted them to ship the item, they would box it and ship it. So, if you are buying gifts, have a card (birthday, special occasion, thinking of you .. whatever) and have them enclose it in the box when they ship it. yes, there is a shipping charge, but if it goes out of state, there is no sales tax.

What if you want to ship your other "stuff" back? Since I will be other places besides DL , I will have goodies from there as well. How can I get a stamp on that stuff to get it home? Is there a mailing place nearby?

That is a good question. I have wondered about this myself.

I looked at purchasing some stuff from Disney Online but the shipping costs add up in a hurry. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was at least $10 USD to ship a pin. And the more I thought about ordering, the more it cost to ship it, which didn't make a lot of sense... ie. 5 pins weren't going to cost more than one pin to ship(in real life), but Disney charged more and more for each item added to the cart. So, I didn't purchase anything.

What I had hoped was to go down to DL, have fun, and pick up souvenirs or other items at various places, put it all into one box and either mail it back or bring it back on the airplane. I'm not sure what the best way is. Sending everything at once should cut down on the number of small shipping charges, but do they charge GST/customs tax if it is mailed versus if you brought it back with you on the plane?

Also, just to mention to those who may be looking for souvenir items, there is supposed to be a Disney Character Warehouse at a mall nearby(???) where it is considerably less expensive than in DisneyLand.

It is my understand that if the package is marked "gift" there is no GST charges or custom tax.

The GC resort has a business center you can mail from. Works great, they have boxes and everything. Make sure to use the UPS option, not fedex..huge, huge price difference.
