how close can i mail a payment and have it properly credited before our arrival? i am leaving november 6 and thinking about mailing a payment on 10/24, so i'll have a big chunk of it out of the way.

do you think it will arrive on time to be credited to our ressie? any advice? tia

Why don't you just pay when you arrive? No use giving Disney your money before they actually need it (you could be earning some interest). -HM

I call and let them take it out of my checking with my Debit Card. If that is possible for you, it will take care of it right then.

I wouldn't count on that. Wait until you get there...if for some reason there are mail problems you could have a real mess.

We have to have our final payment made by Oct. 29th for our Nov. trip. After speaking with a cm he advised us to just call and make the payment over the phone. This will work for us.

I have been trying for the past week to get the rest of my reservation paid before my trip in December. The reason I want to pay it now is that the Canadian dollar is getting better. A $79/night room to people from the US is $79. For Canadians today it is $104. When I made my reservation two months ago it was $116. I could gamble and hope our dollar continues to improve but anything can happen so now is the time for me. :earseek:

I always mail my payments in before I arrive as well. I like knowing I have my trip paid for before I get there so I can have one less thing to worry about.

But I wouldnt mail it that soon to your arrival. Might not get there in time. If you can use your debit card...if you dont have one, go to your bank and ask if you can get one...most of the time they are free. :), and if you can't do that, then just take that last payment with you and pay at check in. Safe than sorry.

One time I got there to the WL and they said I still owed for one night's stay, and I knew better, so me, the always PREPARED DISNEY TRAVELER...had all my cancelled checks with me and I plopped them out to the CM and after a few minutes with her computer and manager, I was told "Im so sorry that was my mistake" and all was well. Hadn't I took all my cancelled checks, I would of owed another night's stay. So that is another reason not to mail it in so close. Take all your proof of payments with you....you never know when you might need it. :)

Personally, I would never mail a payment. Too risky. I just called today and charged the balance due on my reservation to my credit card. My credit card and bank card are linked so I just transfered the funds from checking to credit card.

Also paying by credit card can help if there is any "monkey business" about the payments. You have recourse.
