I know you can mail things home from the stores b/c we did that last year at DTD. Can you mail packages from your resort? I'm just wondering b/c it would make more sense to mail 1 package home than multiple ones from seperate stores?

Thanks :)

We ship packages home from our resort all the time and it's always been there a few days after we arrive home. We intend on doing this again in April as we always have stuff to ship home.:thumbsup2

What you can also do is write down all the SKU #'s of things you want from anywhere on property - then just call Merchandise Services and they will combine everything you want together for one shipping price. Plus if you are buying heavy items since Disney goes by price and not weight it might be quite a bit cheaper and plus you don't have to pay sales tax either.

Fabulous!!! Do you just give them the stuff in bags & they box it up for you ?

We first take pictures of all of our stuff and then tape (which we bring with us) the bags closed. Then we give it to the concierge and they box it up for us.

Great idea. Never thought of this. :thumbsup2 I have called Merchandise Services after we have returned home to order more stuff. They are very efficient and fast with the shipping.

Thanks for the info.
I have never even heard of merchandise services; good to know!! :)

I've heard many people say that they ordered things and had them delivered to the resort to be there when they checked in.

I tried to do this the other day, but was told that the address is invalid and that I can only send to a central Disney P.O. Box.

This seems weird!

Can anyone who's done it before help me out?

Thanks!

We have shipped packages to both the YC and the GF without a problem. You would need their physical shipping address. Then under your resorts address you put:
Your name/arrival date. Never put your reservation number on the package as there is way too much information linked to that number.

Hello, we will visit GF in a month's time. Could you please kindly advise how to retrieve the package at GF? Is there any handling charges?

I am in Canada and planned to order a Virgin cell phone (407 number) and mail to GF, such that I can use the pre-paid phone upon arrival. Thanks.

The last time we were at the GF was December 2006 and a CM greeted us at the bell stand. We advised him that we had a package delivered and he had it sent to our room. If you are not staying concierge, when you check in, tell the CM that you had a package sent there for you and they will have it sent to your room. There wasn't a charge back in 2006 but I don't know if there is one now. I guess I will find out when we arrive in April. Have a great trip.

Edited as I was just on another thread and a poster stated that they were just at the GF in October and there wasn't a handling charge for their package.

Hmmn. That's what I did, with the physical address. But, I was told that they couldn't send to that address because the USPS doesn't recognize it.

I guess I'll have to call the resort directly....

It's been posted in other threads that you need to use a private carrier (i.e., FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) to ship directly to a resort address. Apparently the USPS has a do not deliver to physical address order and everything is delivered to the central PO Box.

I just shipped a box to Pop Century in December via FedEx. It was waiting for us when we checked in. :thumbsup2

I shipped to CSR using the USPS without a problem. I pulled the address off of www.wdwinfo.com Upon check-in, the desk informed me that there was a package waiting, it was in the room when we returned later on that night.

As for sending packages back, I've done it both at the point of sale and all in one shot on check-out morning. It just all depends on how much shopping I'm doing on a particular vacation. I buy at least one musical snow globe a trip, that obviously automatically gets shipped--no point in even risking the possiblilty of damage by having it in a checked suitcase.

I am sorry I should have stated that we shipped via FedEx. We were told by the GF and YC not to use USPS as they don't recognize the resorts address'. They stated to ship either FedEx, UPS and DHL as they will ship directly to the resort.
