Hi "neighbors",

Recently joined DVC (finally! yay ) this summer. However, I moved after the deed was recorded, so the address on my deed is my old mailing address.
When I add on, my plan is to select another contract with the same UY and keep everything else titled the same to maintain just one membership. What I can't find is whether it would create two memberships if my second deed has a different mailing address than the first -- anyone have any experience?

Relatedly, does it even matter that my mailing address on the first deed is outdated (e.g. would I ever need that updated anyway?)

I don’t believe it matters at all and as long as owners and UY are the same, it will be all one membership

That address is public information on the Controller's website anyway, so better it's your old address.

LOL, I have to agree with this. But, in this day and age, with just your name, anyone can find your new address if they try hard enough and wants to find you. But yeah, I rather my old address shows up!

Back to OP's quesiton, while I don't have any experience with this situation, I can't imagine address to have any affect, as DVC goes by legal name(s) on the deed for owner matching purposes, and it must be titled exactly the same, down to full name/middle names, initials, spouse or other owners, etc... Meaning double check your old deed, and include don't include middle name, initials, when you close on the new deed. This is often the cause of ending with a new membership ID for deeds at same Home resort/UY.

Great3
