MAILER- failure notice ??????

Is anyone else getting the annoying "failure notice" emails? I think I have about 61 just from this morning.

The subject is either:

- MAILER- failure notice

or

-postmaster@***** Delivery Status Notification (Failure)

This is some of the text in the email:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at www2.sea.theriver.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.


It seems they are all from a "online drugstore".

Any one else getting them?

Your email address has been hacked. You are getting the 'denials' from the invalid destinations on the hackers list.

Not much you can do except keep deleting them. They will end eventually. You could always change your email account.

In any case, I would suggest changing your email password.

Oh my god...this has been happening to me for months. Should I just give up that particular acount? Its a yahoo one. Wouldn't the hackers get a hold of my new password if I just change that?

I had a Yahoo account that this happened to. When I reported it to Yahoo, they said someone had used my account to SPAM, and gave me the choices above. It was really quite irritating as it followed the alphabet. One day I'd get rejections sent to addresses with an "A" at the beginning. Next I'd get "B" and so on, so on....

If you have an easy password, then you should change it. It should have a combination of letters and numbers and NOT be anything someone who knows you a little can guess. This actually goes for all passwords.

I would change your password and see what happens. It's entirely possible a spammer is just using your account as a 'dummy' account and doesn't know your password. If you continue to get those emails then I would abandon your account. I put a filter on my Yahoo account for about a month that deleted anything with "FAILURE NOTICE" in the subject. After that time, it pretty much went away.
