My DH is considering playing golf there during our cruise and this is offered by DCL as an excursion on St Thomas.

If anyone played this course can you answer a few questions, please?

If so, did you book directly or through DCL?

What was the price difference?

How much to rent your own clubs?

The final payment is due and now he wants to save where we can. I told him that I'd go to the experts and let him know.

Thanks in advance,
Ursula

DH just played there on our 11/13 cruise. He is an avid golfer and said that the course was ok, but he has played better in the states for the same price. WE booked directly thru DCL and I would recomend doing so. The excursion was late coming back and barely made it back to the ship on time. If he hadn't booked thru DCL he could have easily missed the boat! They will hold the ship if you book with them and it is late.

DH also noticed that the course was charging whatever they wanted to while he was there. A local came in and they charged about $60 but then a tourist came in and they charged $100 and then told someone over the phone $150.

I guess it would depend on what kind of courses your dh plays, but if he plays top notch courses like my dh, he might be disappointed. Hope that helps. If he has any more ?'s let me know and I will ask DH.

Have fun on your cruise.

Thanks, Debbie. Did your DH bring his own clubs? I think booking through Disney is best, too!

Yes, DH brought his own clubs. He is very tall with a long arm span and could not play with just anything. Standard clubs don't work for him at all. It really wasn't bad for us as we drove. I think it would be more of a problem if you are flying to bring the clubs.

Thanks again!

My husband played it several years ago on our 1/02 cruise. He rented the clubs there, and had no complaints--he is tall, a lefty and likes firm clubs. I think it cost $35 to rent the clubs. When I was looking at the cost vs the excursion, the cost quoted online was exactly what the DCL excursion cost.

We just played, again, on the 10/30 cruise. This time we booked throught DCL. The last time was on our own. The course is different. It is not bad and has some awesome scenary. In fact we looked at a piece of property to buy that overloos the course. ANyway. I was cheaper through DCL and we took our own clubs. The casket fit in the closet and was out of the way. We almost missed the ship the first time so we decided not to take any chances. Oh the only reason we did not miss the ship was the captain was with us. Tiger Woods teed off in fron of us and delayed us. You never know who will be on the course and if you are with the excursion they have to hold the ship.

Have a great time.
