Does Disney have a trip to maho beach to watch the planes? If not can this be done in the time allowed? Is it worth going?

You can catch the local bus to Maho for $3 each way (kids free). Otherwise you can take a taxi but it will be a lot more.

It is a lot of fun, try to be there around lunch time when the big planes start arriving.

Bernard's Tour does a tour for $25pp that's a Maho Only. It goes from 11a-2p. Maho is amazing and is not to be missed. We would've rather stayed here vs. Orient beach.

We did it as part of our sightseeing tour with Bernard. Unfortunately we were parking as the last "big" plane flew over. Hugely disappointed! The next big planes were too far off to wait. Be sure to check the arrival timings and then time your visit to include as many of the big planes as possible. Definitely cool - will have to go back and do it again.

We did a Bernard's Tour on the 5/4 Eastern that stopped at Maho. I could have seriously spent the entire day there. Most of the air traffic occurs in the 11-3 timeframe. The beach itself is fairly small, but there are lounge chair and umbrella rentals. There's a bar and grill right on the beach called Sunset where you can get a bite to eat. There are few little stores just a short walk away. The next time we go to St. Maarten, we will spending at least half of the day at Maho. Our 1 hour stop with Bernard's wasn't long enough.

We took a taxi and it was very easy to get to. We shared a van with others that were going, and I believe we payed about $3pp per way. It was a great experience and would love to go again.

We ended up taking a taxi for $10 each person each way. Loved Maho beach! Got a great table at the bar/restaurant with great views of the planes coming in and taking off. I could have sat there all day but sadly only stayed 4 hrs! :rotfl2: I will definitely go back if I get the chance!

For those that have been and have younger kids, mine will be 5 and 8 when we go, did they enjoy it as well? I have always wanted to do this but not sure the kids will enjoy a few hours just watching planes. I have heard it isn't the best beach, but is there someplace for the kids to play in the water?

I think your kids will be fine as long as you incorporate the beach part into the day. We basically just stood there and watched planes for an hour and didn't have our bathing suits with us since we were on a tour. It got hot since there's no shade except for umbrellas you can rent or if you want to go eat at Sunset Grille. My DS (8) loved the planes, but he did start to get bored towards the end of the hour. If he could have been swimming at the same time, I know he wouldn't have been bored. The beach is not the biggest or the greatest I've ever been to, but it was still nice and you can't beat the view. You can rent loungers and umbrellas, but I'm not sure of the price.
