Hi all! has anyone stayed at the Magnolia Terrace Building at PORS? How far is it to the main pool? The restaurants? What are the views like? THANKS S

I have stayed in that particular building. Can't remember much about it but we did like it. It is a little bit of a walk from the main building, but there's not much in it and it is a nice picturesque walk. I think out of all our stays in the mansions, this was our favourite. We had a standard view looking onto the garden/car park at the back of the mansion.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this mansion. If I'm right there is a little gazebo next to the water's edge near the mansion.

We stayed in Magnolia Terrace 4 times. There is a quiet pool there, plus it is only a short walk to the main pool area which has a small bar with drinks & snacks. There is a bus stop in back of the building. We enjoyed it there every trip. The landscaping is beautiful throughout the resort.

Magnolia Terrace is a bit of a walk to either the themed pool or the food court. If a quiet pool is okay with your group (a GREAT quiet pool, by the way) I would do either Oak Manor or Parterre Place since they are closer to the food court. We requested Parterre Place but ended up in Oak Manor. I was under the mistaken notion that Oak Manor was all smoking, but it's only one floor. A bit longer walk to the playground and themed pool, but otherwise a great location.
Aesthetically, I loved Parterre Place and Oak Manor. The Mansions section gets gradually more formal and ornate from Acadian House (closest to the Bayou) to Parterre Place. IT's fun to walk and notice the gradual change in architecture. Personally, the fountain in front of Oak Manor was a big hit with the three year old crowd in our party.

Dixie Landings, Magnolia Terrace was our choice for many visits. The main pool is just across the bridge on your way to the main building, food court, etc. It has a quiet pool and laundry facilities near by. The best thing it is near the bus stop and your car if you drive. After our first stay, we requested Magnolia Terrace each time.

We stayed at Magnolia Terrace the last week in May '02.
I asked for third floor, backside and got it. We liked the location.
Magnolia Terrace is the closest mansion to the bridge that leads to the main area. We were on the far backside to the left of the building.
It was convenient for the quiet pool/laundry area and main pool.
If I was to stay there again (which I wouldn't) I would probably be inclined to stay in AB.
I was glad we stayed in Magnolia. But seems AB would have been more convenient to the main section. But hard to say without staying there and experiencing it.

We stayed at Magnolia Terrace in May 2002, and we loved it. It is convenient to Ol' Man Island (the main pool) and has a great quiet pool. You would only have to walk over a small foot bridge to reach the main pool. After crossing the foot bridge, the main pool is straight ahead. The path to your right leads to a great playground, and the left path goes around a section of the main pool to the restaurants. On the way to the restaurants, there are rabbits and ducks along the path. It's quite amazing. In fact, there are spots at POR that are simply "achingly" beautiful. (Uh oh! Now, I want to go back!)

Have a terrific time.
