The concierge stateroom doors look different than regular room doors. Will they hold a regular magnet?

Classic ships will hold a magnet. Doors are painted steel. Dream class will not.

The Dream class doors have a wood veneer on the doors. Heavy duty magnets will work. But from our experience sailing concierge on the Dream and Fantasy most people don't bother. Personally, I like the look of the concierge hallways with out all of the magnet clutter.

Magic and Wonder, yes!

Dream and Fantasy, No! They have a wooden type of finish so it's not magnetic.

While the wood veneer is on the Concierge doors on the Dream class ship, it's still metal underneath. You can use magnets on them, as long as they are stronger than your average fridge-type rubber magnet. I believe the neodymium magnets work well.

Ok so I guess you just can't stick anything, my bad. IMG_1041.PNG

Our Dream Concierge door looked different than the other doors. I didnt see any magnets when we sailed Concierge (3 cruises) and we did not try to put any.

We just sailed Dream concierge. I had removable Dory stickers (plastic typically used for window clings) that the kids decorated our door with.

Yes you can put magnets on the Concierge doors. You have to buy stronger magnets and then put them on the door first and then put your picture magnet on top of the stronger magnet (I usually used two or three to hold the picture, put them on the corners to old the magnet to the door). We did this on the Fantasy and are planning on doing it again on the Dream. If I can find the pictures I will post them here. I will also go check what magnets I bought so you know what strength works.

i just get the #10 magnets from Hobby Lobby. They're strong and work well. Also, they're thin enough that anything you're putting up won't stick out too far from the actual door.

On Magic and Wonder, regular magnets will work fine. On Dream and Fantasy, you need neodymium magnets to hold over the wood veneer. I just added a few small ones to the back of our custom magnets from etsy, although some sellers will add them for you for an additional charge. Door decorating is less common in concierge, but not unheard of! We always do it.
