Magic's 10th Anniversary Cruise (07/27/08-08/03/08): Done w/pics (more pics later)

wow 13,700!!! I know exactly how I would spend it. congrats to the winners!!! sounds like a wonderful cruise even with the rain. You would think that disney would at least have commissioned a lithograph to commemorate the 10th anniversary cruise. a pin and a piece of cake seems anti climactic. but then that's what you get at WDW these days for an anniversay. We have one button from epcot, one from animal kingdom, and am sure there will be one in may for the 20th anniversary of the studios. Still for a class act like DCL, it seems a bit cheap.

I don't know if others mentioned it, but there were some 10th anniversary stuff that was sold on the Magic (we were on the same cruise as this post). Don't know if these were made available on prior cruises. There was a limited edition 10th anniversary pin sold (limited to 500 pieces), a shot glass, t-shirt, a Christmas ornament (which sold out quickly... perhaps the first day (we picked one up!)), and, I think, either another ornament or key chain (couldn't figure out what it was). If I have the time, I will take pictures of the 10th anniversary stuff that I picked up (pin, t-shirt & ornament).

Welcome home, man, welcome home!

Like Joe said, there was a lot of 10th Anniversary stuff for purchase. There was the large pin (the limited edition of 500 one) and a watch (limited edition 100) released this cruise, everyone else had already been available.

Great News about the Bingo. ALMOST makes the hassle with the TA worth it all.

I agree about the private dining room though- 12 poeple on the same timeline is not the same as 12 people at 3 different tables and slightly different timing. Fernando has always been better than excellent when we have had him. I just think the Private room is tough for one person.

Thanks for the live report. It's not as good as being there but certainly brings back a lot of "we did that" and "we should have done that" discussions.

Looking forward to pictures.

Speaking of the TA. We all were surprised with a $25 onboard credit, not from the TA, but from DCL, because the TA booked the cruises online.

When we rebooked onboard, Jocelyn made sure to let us know that we could transfer the reservation to a travel agent if we wanted to. :rotfl2:

We may sleep that night, but we'll probably be too excit...well, you know the rest.

Hi!!! This line grabbed me and made me laugh out loud!!

I'm just starting the trippie, but I have to admit I lurked and suffered with you through the travel agent fiasco!

Hey -- I'm married to Tom Bell -- did you forget to take me with you on this cruise????

(Glad you had a good trip -- enjoyed your report!)

dear mr. tom ~ your a great writer..thanks a bunch~ ,

your name~~"tom terrific"? :thumbsup2

..* once..i started..reading..i couldn't stop. oh, :flower3: ..sorry

for being so late. a lil'nussance..have invaded my happy world,

 [ don't you jus hate that! ]. he moved...next door..to us..

its our recreational land..out in the country. & he already..causing
major problems.

what a great..family cruise..you created...from that diaster. kuddos

to you! pixiedust: [ we are getting ready...for the canal cruise, our

6th. ..from experiences with alot of pop-up problems] .so having the

right attitude..& the willness to work "it"...can/does make all the difference.

..* hey, i think..we're related..to the winners, :rolleyes1

..i see ..your a "frenso state" fan. talk about a "cinderlla story"! i sorta
follow their...football league [ on late tv back here ]. & i sorta follow
college football @ large. sometimes..i think..it's good for the lil'
leagues..be consider in the national championships game. anyone..
with a lil'insight....knows...the osu/fla's game..had to many major
mistakes..that effected both teams..from determining a real champion.
[ maybe some day..the facts...will come to light?] . however, since
they cannot go back..and replay..then....boise state...should be
awarded the national championship...blue field & all. what's
crappie..byu...won..it, by beating a * 6-5 michigan team..in the
holiday bowl..& they call this progress? * interesting..is the oct.
sports illustrated...1990..did a story..over the poor officating..
[ the year,,mo was defeatd..by colorado..,scoring the wining td
on fifth down? .....that gave them..a national championship bid.
..wow, whats good is...replay..* they used..it during fla/osu..and yet
ignored..giving fla...td's..when they did not crossed the goal line.
ha!..earlier..in the season..the texas / osu 's game..was decided...
when..texas..fumbled...going in for a score. makes one wonder..
if ? /// they should give boise..state its due?

well , we got to start getting ready...most already packed,

don't anyone..do it..the old~fashioned way...the night before?

thanks..again..your trip report..full of :cool2: tips. and for the

cool name tags! :thumbsup2

Fantastic report, thanks! So a question about the winnings, I hear they give the money all in cash, is that true and were they nervous carrying that off the ship with them? How do they plan on spending all that?:)
