Magicians & Jugglers & a Clown Slide, OH MY! We're going to the BWI... A Nov 2010 PTR

I think I am gonna do the passports too!! Stupid question....after you print the pages, do you bend them in the middle and then laminate or what? I can't tell from the picture exactly how you did it..... I gotta have it step by step for my non creative self!!!

I have the same design to do our passports. I am so NOT creative so we'll see how it goes. We're thinking of having them printed at a Kinko's or someplace like that. I'm assuming it takes a lot of ink. Yours looks great!

I printed them out at home. Yes, it took a bunch of ink! It explains how to do it correctly in that thread. But that's not how I did it. To do it correctly you would have to line papers up back to back and print on the backs of ones you already printed, etc. I wasn't up for all that. So I just printed out each page and folded them in the middle so they kind of formed a book. I didn't want to laminate the inside pages, because I want the CM's to be able to write and stamp on them. I laminated the outside covers for protection. And I did a whole punch in the top left corner of each page and the front & back cover and it is all held together by a little thingy and I don't know what it's called - a ring binder type thing. You can see it in the pics.

Hope that helps! :)

I thought it would be nice since we plan on spending a lot of time at Epcot since we are staying so close to it!

Love the pics of your DS showing their growth year by year in the same spot, those are something truely precious to have.

You did a fantastic job with making those passports Shelly. Your DS's will have a wonderful time collecting the stamps and autographs from the different CM's in all the countries, my younges DS:littleangel: did it either the first or second year we visited WDW and he enjoyed doing it a lot and he kept it all those years, I came across it when I was going through some of his things after he died.

Since the kids (DS11 particularly) think they are too big to the the Epcot masks now, plus they have done them before, I decided to make them their very own Epcot Passports!

HEy Shelly!!! :goodvibes I found your PTR!!! :cool1: GREAT job so far! I too LOVE the "Growth Chart" pictures at DTD!!!

I have to say that it is VERY appropriate that Pooh Bear is on the Canadian Stamp! Did you know that "Winnie" is short for Winnipeg, which is the capital city of Manitoba? Winnipeg was the name of the REAL bear after which the original Winnie the Pooh stories were created!! :)

Check this link - it is very interesting Canadian Trivia!!

History of Winnie the Pooh

If you read the article it mentions White River, ON - that is only about 5 hours east (going around Lake Superior) of where I live!!!

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

ps. currently our postage up here is sitting around 57 cents!! :lmao:

Love the Epcot Passports. We bought Madison a new "Guide to the Magic" book which has places for passport stamps. She loves going to all the Kidcot stops!

I love the passports! Great idea. My DDs love pin collecting as well! We ended up getting a pin binder last trip. From all of our trips we have a ton of pins:rotfl: It looks like your boys have a good collection going! I hope they are both enjoying school!

Yay for the great score on pins! That is awesome! They will get some good ones I'm sure- if they'll actually trade them and not keep them.:goodvibes

Has anyone noticed a decrease in trading going on in the parks? Mark and I talked about it in May- it didn't seem like as many people were actually doing it, but we weren't necessarily looking for it either. Just an observation from the trip.

The passports are so neat! They are really nice and the kids will have so much fun doing it.:wizard:

Looking forward to more......popcorn::

We have never done the passports before - but they are really cute!

We would always get a 'Passporter' to use the travel journal in the back because they have little pockets and places to save stuff - but at $25 a piece  I couldn't justify it anymore. But, we do love writing everything down. We still look at the one from our honeymoon and laugh at things that we never would have remembered if we didn't write it down. So, instead of spending the money on a new passporter - I went to themouseforless.com and printed up travel journal pages and we are going to use them instead!

After we get back I am hoping to either laminate them - or turn them into scrapbook pages somehow. :goodvibes

Thanks Sheila! What a wonderful memory and keepsake for you.

I do hope we run into one another at Disney!

:welcome: Kim! Glad you found me!

You know, I always knew Pooh had something to do with Canada, but I guess I never knew the story. Thanks for the info! pooh:

57 cents for a stamp! :scared1:

Thanks Meghan! :goodvibes We are really going to try to take it slow through the WS at Epcot this time and enjoy the things that we have rushed through in the past.

I've heard of the Guide to the Magic. Madison will love it!

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes We are going to have to get something for these pins soon too. I think they can only each fit about one more on their lanyard. Actually DS8 could use a new lanyard now that I think of it. Guess it's back to ebay! :upsidedow

They are both enjoying school, thanks. DS8 more-so than DS11, but they are both doing well!

I can't wait to see what pins we get! They have been shipped and are on their way, so not long now! I will be sure to post a pic when they get here.

Hmm. . . I can't say that I noticed a decrease in the pin trading last year. I hope that's not the case this year! I did notice that the pin trading board/station at DTD in the pin store is never open anymore! :headache: We were at DTD twice and checked it 3X each time and it was closed. :confused3 But we saw a lot of CM's with pins and the boys did a lot of trading. DS11 still talks about how he got so lucky by trading a pin with a CM in Mexico because he got a really rare and special Star Wars pin and he can't believe anyone would have traded that!! He knows that the CM's don't generally start out with the most popular pins each day! :rotfl:

Yikes :scared1: $25 is a bit steep! I have printed those travel journal pages off for the kids to write about their trips on too. They are so cute!

I love those passports. My kids still like doing the masks though. Have I mentioned that the youngest is 29? They also must do hat pictures in each country which make great scrapbooking pictures.

I wish I had thought to do the growth pictures. I'm getting to the age where I'm starting to shrink so maybe I could do that instead. :confused3

And what a great deal on the pins. I am trying to figure out how to do a nice/professional display of my pins. I'd like to put them in my new office.

Catching up!
Em is on my lap and as soon as she saw the pics of CBR she immediately said she wanted to go back.

Perfume- I'll have to check out Primo next time I'm out and see if it smells of Disney. :lmao: I don't wear perfume daily since one of my babies has asthma but Clinique Happy is my favorite. I wore it on our wedding day :goodvibes

The passport books turned out great! I saw them before our last trip and saved them but never made them. Maybe next trip. :wizard:

Shelly,
My son just started getting into pin trading last year and boy are those pins expensive. I think I am going to check out ebay, should I be looking for anything in particular like "authentic disney pins". I have heard of people getting fake pins off of ebay and I want to make sure I get the real thing.
~jen

My boys love pin trading too! They both have the big fabric pin bags. My DS12 probably has close to 200 pins and his brother isn't too far behind. I have been buying on ebay for years and then they trade them. Actually my DS12's two favorite things to do in Disney are pin trade and catch lizards (he got really good at it last trip, we have all these pics of him holding little lizards!)

I'm here... I'm here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY a PTR.....

Thanks Pakey!

 My kids will probably want to do the masks again when they are older too. Right now they are just in that faze (mostly DS11) where they are too cool for things like that.

Aw, Em wants to get back to her "home" CBR. :cloud9: I don't blame her!!

Yes, look for authentic Disney pins. I've never had trouble with them. Just make sure to look at the sellers numbers and reviews and it should be okay! :thumbsup2

Good luck! :wizard:

They were so excited!!! :yay::yay: I think we got some traders and some keepers in there. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Count me in! You will love the BWI, we stayed there before and really enjoyed it.

We will overlap a bit, we arrive on Nov 12-21...look for us if you will be in Epcot on the 13 and 14...we are going to pack in as much F&W as we can since it will be the last weekend.

This time DH got to pick the resort so back to the CBR it is, he just loves that place...might have something to do with the tropical themeing, he loves the Bahamas so this is the next best thing ha ha. Even though the resort is huge at that time of the year things are pretty quiet so it should not be too bad.

The next 2 months will fly by....at least I hope so!
