Magicbands regular colors

So I know magicbands look like theyre being phased out & theyre no longer offering the complimentary ones, but why did they get rid of the solid colors altogether? Id pay for them! I was happy with my purple lol. We had to cancel our first trip from September, our magicband order was automatically cancelled too. I rebooked for April and just went to reorder and cant get just plain green, red or purple Grey still is free tho! Even if they do something fancy with the app, i just associated the magicband as being a fun aspect of the trip!

They’re not phasing them out, just not giving away free ones anymore. You can still purchase all the solid color bands in stores. They’re usually available to purchase with your resort reservation as well, but just could be temporarily out of stock right now

Yeah, the complimentary solid color ones are currently not available to be chosen with your resort reservation, except for gray. Which stinks considering how much we're (over)charged to stay at Disney resorts.

Oh man--I had my heart set on a solid blue one this time around. Anyone have any idea if they are coming back? We are going the third week of August....I've been holding off on getting them because I wanted the blue one I've seen, up until a little while ago; then poof, gone like the wind.

I literally just noticed this. Luckily the rest of my family still has their bands from our last trip, but I lost mine. My husband would only want plain black or blue if he did need one, and they aren't even an option. Honestly the choices are pretty lacking.

Anyway, long story short, I wish they would up their MagicBand game here! Does anyone think they will come back with more choices?

The current availability of MagicBands is likely still being affected by an ongoing global shortage of computer chips.

Yeah, eventually they will. I ordered new ones on 1/29 (they had the 50th anniversary castle band) and there were about 30 different options that day. Many solid colors too

I was/am on the lookout for plain red (have an Enda Mode overlay that will look best on red) and have constantly checked Shop Disney, the pre-trip MDE page and when I was there in January, all the parks. None to be found.

Same! We ordered ours last week. I think they sell out quickly because one day they had olive green the next day, when I went to order, it was gone.

This is why I haven‘t even considered ordering bands for our December trip yet (though I did look briefly and found ones I liked…). I don’t want to order now and then have the + come out in a few months. I really wish they’d give more of a timeframe on when + is coming, even if it’s vague (Spring ‘22, Summer ‘22, etc.).

Something is definitely odd with the selections the passed couple weeks. They had a bunch of designs one day, then they were all gone the next. And they normally update regularly but it seems like they haven’t even updated lately. I’m getting nervous! Lol
