MagicBands during split on/off-site stay

I'm gonna try really hard to be as clear as possible, but my question is somewhat confusing and I am pretty ignorant in the MagicBand area. I am not even certain this is the best place to post it, so please bear with me.

My family and I will be staying for 4 nights ON-SITE and 7 nights OFF-SITE. We will be purchasing 5-day tickets however, we will not be packaging them with the room. 3/5 days we are on-site will be spent in the parks and the other 2 days will be spent in the parks while we are staying off-site.

My question is if anyone knows how the MagicBand process would work in this situation? Will I have to purchase them? If so, can I still link them to my room for the days that I am on-site? If not, will the bands be activated for all 14 days that a ticket would be valid, just the on-site relevant portions would be disabled (meaning I'll still be able to use the band for the 2 remaining days when I am off-site)?

Please let me know if there is any further clarification needed, and I appreciate any advice you can offer.

MBs are included with your onsite stay and can be used during the onsite portion of your stay for room access, and for all days of your stay for tickets and FPs.

No worries, you will get your magic bands with your stay and will be able to use them your whole trip!

We stayed at the FS before switching to Pop and though we didn't have MBs from the FS, we used our Pop ones, since MBs are only the portal to access your information anyways, it was better than carrying around a card.....we were probably in the minority of their guests, but hey, if you got em, use em!

As part of your on property resort stay you are entitled to order Magic bands at no extra charge. You can pick from the 7 solid colored ones that are available but not any of the special characters ones. In order to use your Magic bands for park admission you will need to link the tickets to each person's MB in MDE. You will not be able to set up FP+ unless you link your tickets to MDE so you really need to get the tickets ahead of time in order to preselect your FP+. Once the tickets are linked to your MDE account they are also linked to your MB. The MB will remain active even after you check out of your Disney hotel but any room charging or DDP will end at midnight of checkout day so the tickets will remain active until they are used up.

The MBs will still access your tickets and FP+s. You won't be able to charge anymore, once you're offsite, but they don't turn off the MBs. They just turn off room charging (and access to the room etc).

Not to hijack, but I have a related but opposite question. We're doing one Disney day during our Hard Rock stay, then after HRH, we're checking in to the Contemporary. Can we use our magic bands as tickets and for FP on that DHS day 4 days before we're checked in at the CR?

yes....as long as they are linked in your account...
