Magicbands and tickets purchased elsewhere

We've been to WDW many times, but not since all the changes have been implemented. I feel like such a newbie now!!

We will be staying onsite for a few nights in August. I just checked Undercover Tourist, and I can get four days for the price of 3. They say these tickets are eligible for FP+ and use with the magic band.

Will we still get customized magic bands sent to us ahead of time since we are staying onsite, or is that only if we buy tickets with the package? I'm sure these bands would come with directions to tell me how to connect them with the tickets purchased elsewhere??? I don't to miss out on any benefits of being able to use the linked FP+, charging to the room, park tickets etc. on our bands, but would love to take advantage of the better priced ticket.

Yes.

Your tickets will need to be linked to your MDE account where your MagicBands are linked. The MagicBands provide the link/key to all your data in your MDE account. They don't hold any info. The bands provide the access to your tickets and FPs when you are in the parks.

I was worried about that too, but it's as easy as hiroMYhero says. As soon as I got the e-ticket from UT, I was able to link it to my MDE and start customizing our MagicBands. Now we're just waiting for them to arrive!

What LaBelleVie posted has been my experience (to date) as well. I got my tickets from UT and was able to link them in MDE without any problems (and saved some $$ over tickets from other sites!).
