Magicbands and linking tickets

The last time we went to WDW was June last year before Magicbands. We have a trip planned in October, but I bought our park tickets now from UT because of the price increase. I'm wondering if there are any benefits to linking our tickets to MDE now or any reason not to link them. I believe they don't actually activate until we first use them on the park.

Well, if you do link them, at the 60 day mark you can make your FP+ selections...

I'm going in May and did link mine. I haven't seen any reason/posts to do otherwise.

In order to pre-schedule any FP+ selections, you need have valid park admission linked to your MDX profile. Linking tickets to MDX will not "activate" them.

I have been essentially out of the loop on this. How do you link Undercover Tourist tickets to the Magic Band? I haven't gotten either yet, but just this morning I was looking into tickets. Going April 11.

Any help with this, or a good step-by-step guide you can refer me too?

You don't link tickets to a MagicBand, you link tickets to My Disney Experience (MDX) profiles.
