Magicbands and comfort stations

Do you think they will be changing how you enter the comfort station to magicbands soon if at all? DH thinks they would be changed over before our trip at the beginning of November. I don't think so, I don't think they will change it at all. I believe they will keep the cards. What are your thoughts?

Really good question. Having a card for that purpose only would be redundant, but I think changing the lock system for all stations in a period of a couple of weeks would be a major chore. It will be interesting to see - checking in on the 25th so I guess we'll find out then. I'll bet someone on this site will know the answer.........

I believe the sensors will be able to read both the new RFID KTTW Cards as well as magic bands as they do at the resort rooms. I believe you still have the option of using a KTTW card vs. Magic Band.

Using our first magic band in three weeks, but at AKL. It always feels like i'm cheating on a loved one when I drive by FW while not staying there.

That is what I was thinking, it would work just the KTTW card did.

We'll be there for Halloween and I was hoping they do have all the locks on the cs done by then. We just got our Magic Bands in the mail yesterday so it would be good to be able to use them.

Wouldn't they be changing all the cabin doors to the new locks (light up mickey heads that work with magic bands or RFID KTTW cards- you can see them i nthe movie at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/bands-cards/) anyway before they fire up all the magic bands? All the KTTW cards have been RFID for a while now anyway- there's no reason they couldn't do it right now.

If they have to do scores(hundreds?) of cabins then what's a few more comfort stations?

And presumably they've changed every hotel room in the place by now, so they must be pretty proficient at doing it quickly by now. Changing a few tens of doors is probably childs play at this point.

The comfort stations are already using RFID in the Key to the World cards. No real change for it to use the Magic Band instead.
