MagicBand?

I know what a magicband is - my children got them at Auntie House this year in Hawaii. Not sure if I know where they are still.

Do you get new ones upon arrival at WDW for everyone or do I need to find them or purchase new ones?

If you're staying on property, you'll get them sent to you if you're in the U.S, or if you're coming from another country, you'll pick them up at your hotel. If you're not staying on property, you can buy them (or bring the ones you got in Hawaii), but they're not necessary.

If you are staying onsite everyone in your party receives one at no additional cost.

If you are not staying onsite or you'd like a more unique one you can purchase from the Disney Store website or at the gift shops in WDW.

As the PP's have noted, if you are staying at a WDW resort you'll get new ones for free. I don't believe the MB's your children got at Aunties (Aulani) will work at WDW.

Ehhh, there is some conflicting info here. They will only mail you Magic Bands on your first visit through My Disney Experience. I recently had friends in town for their second trip in the last year and we had to pick up their bands at the hotel on property.

That just means your friends either chose to have them sent to the front desk or customized too late to ship. I've taken 15-20 trips with magicbands and every single set has been mailed to me.

Perhaps that was your friend's experience but they do mail them to you each time if you live in the US and you customize them on time and give your address.
I've had them mailed to me in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2015, and 20116.

I may have misunderstood my friends situation then. Sorry for any bad info here. Just seems excessive and unnecessary to have more than a handful of magicbands.

I consider them a souvenir and since they are interchangeable you can still use each and every one of them on future trips.
