After going to Walt Disney World last year and now getting our Magicbands out of the closet...I noticed a white residue on them. Kinda like a chalky, white powder.

Is this normal? I'll give them a wash!!!

Do your Magicbands have this white powder on them?

TIA

Yes, we save our old ones as souvenirs but they don't look nice anymore. I always thought it was because we swam in the pool wearing them.

It's normal. Caused by a combination of sun, sunscreen, chlorine/bromine in the water, soap and general breakdown of plastics and pigments.

It’s so funny you posted this because yesterday my husband and I got our old bands out to compare them to our new and they were the same way. Covered in a whiteish residue.
We stored those in the box, the ones we’ve had previously we’ve just stored out in the open. The ones stored out in the open didn’t do that. So maybe it’s because they’re in a box?

The ones we have from 2016 have that. Except for the one my son wore for like 3 months after our trip. That one's shiny. LOL.

Pixie dust, when unused for months, will gather and clump. This is why it’s important to regularly wear your Disney boxers...

Thanks everyone for humoring me....I needed that. Well, hope the battery is still ticking after a year! We'll see in October.

Have a good week everyone.
