Are there any Magicband+ sales anywhere, or can my husband use one of my many mb's for an upcoming trip?

Well I own and stay at DVC and they are always discounted if I order before check in. It is like $10 off the retail price.

If you’re not picky, Disney’s two outlet stores at the Vineland and I-Drive Premium Outlets will often have cheap Magic Bands. These will be recently discontinued styles.

last time we went was over 12 years ago & for some reason mbs slipped my mind (denial isn’t just a river) 34.98 on sale times four makes me feel very nickel and dimed

Pardon me for letting my haven't-been-to-the-parks-since-2021 ignorance show, but what exactly is the difference between MB+ and the normal ole' MB? I have an MB from like, 2019. Would I still be able to use that for my upcoming trip, or would I have to buck up and face the extra $34.99 head-on?

You can use your old ones.

Also, MB's are not 100% necessary. You can use your phone, Apple watch, or ask for an old fashioned key card. You can use the card to enter your room, as your park ticket, and to charge back to your room - and Memory Maker if you purchase it. No need for a MB unless you want one. And old versions will still work for the "tap" features, but probably not for capturing any type of ride photos or interactive things.

The MB+ are rechargeable. They also light up at certain times like fireworks and even in some certain attractions. In ToT they light up in the pre-show when the lightening strikes. The also interact with some of the statues that were put up for the 50th.

You old MB will work for any tap points, such as park entry and Fast Passes or what even the new name is. Depending on the battery life it may or may not work for ride photos.

I was just looking at Magic Bands available to order before your stay. They had a few new ones, but some of them are no longer discounted the $10. They are full price at $44.99. Another perk gone by the wayside.

Yep. 5 of the 35 offered are now full price.

If you go into the MDE app, and you have a resort stay coming up, you can order MB+ bands through the app for a discount ($10 off I think).

Disney Store has some on sale and you can use the F&F sale code for 25% off. If you're not picky, the $34.99 ones will end up being $26. Otherwise, like a previous poster said, if you're staying at a resort, use the MDE app and some of the MBs are discounted. The plain colored ones are the cheapest at $24.99.

Hubby and I are splurging on a big family trip this coming spring. Our 3 kids, their spouses and our grandkids. About half of them will need new Magicbands. Been trying to find the link to preorder (and have them at resort upon arrival since we r from 🇨🇦) without success. The last time I needed to buy one this was the best strategy because there was a bit of a discount. On our magicband page it shows our current and past ones but no link for purchasing a new one for anyone in our party. Is this no longer an option? I understand the discount is no longer an option but we would still appreciate the convenience of having them at the desk when we arrive, rather than having a bunch of kids tearing through the gift shop. Haha.

Unfortunately we already ordered for our coming trip, so I can’t check to be sure. However, ordering discounted MBs is associated with the Disney resort reservation, and it might be only via the MDE website, not the app. Look at your reservation in MDE and scroll down to see if there’s a section about ordering MBs. You have to order all the MBs at one time, and if any in your party are not getting MBs you have to click the Decline button too, or else the order won’t go through.

Also unfortunately, I don’t know how living in Canada might affect ordering MBs - so you might want to ask on the Canadian Trip Planning forum https://www.disboards.com/forums/canadian-trip-planning-community-board.19/.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I have continued to dig through the links both online and the app and it is starting to look like all international ordering has been suspended, even if you want them left at hotel check in, not shipped to your home. Will perhaps contact them directly but it looks like we will have to purchase after we arrive. Thank you again!

The last four I bought from eBay. There were more options that I didn't see from Disney. They were also cheaper. Just make sure it says it has never been activated. I have never had an issue with any of mine.
