Magicband question

We have our Magicbands from last trip and our new ones from this trip. Are the old ones still linked to our tickets and room? Are they interchangeable so we can decide each day whether to wear the new or old ones? Thanks

They are interchangeable as long as you used the same MDE account for your current trip. We had a little trouble with our bands working to open our room - but that was Disney's issue, not ours.

I have like 8 and I swap them out regularly. As I understand it, the only information on the band is the unique identifier for that band. The system then looks at which account that band is linked to and pulls the data (charging privileges, FP times etc) from the account. You can have 10 bands linked to the same account and all they are going to do is point the system towards your MDE account. Make sense? That's why I laugh everytime I see someone freaking out because they changed a FP after their bands ship and they don't know how to get the new fastpass added to the band. There's no data on the band except the serial number. It's all on the MDE account.

Funny how I was thinking about this just this morning. We got back from our trip last week and I have our 3 Magicbands from this trip plus the 3 from last year. Since they're personalized, I'd like to hang on to them. Been just putting them in the box they came in but these things are going to start adding up shortly....Just wondering what to do with them. My thoughts for whatever it's worth.

just match them to your outfit! I only have 4, and I might buy a Cinderella one if I can find it, but just don't want the orange or yellow ones....

As others have already said, yes, you can use old magic bands. You will just want to log into your MDE account and confirm that the old bands are linked to you.

I believe I heard Disney is going to start allowing you to refuse new bands on bookings if you already have one. I'm surprised it took as long as it did to offer that. It is a cost savings for them and is more environmentally friendly.
