Magicband question for perople that have gotten them

Hi All,
This should probably be in a sticky but here it goes. To all of you whom have magicbands or have been told to personalize them, how far out will they ask you? I did my 60 day check in yesterday and was hoping to be in the test group. I am just wondering when I could expect the invite. Thanks ya'll.

I just got my bands this wk on tue, red for me & green for DH. All the sudden it showed up for me on the Disney website maybe out 45 days out, but there was no email saying it was there. It said we had until sept 28 to customize (oct 28 is when trip starts). On sept 30 I got email they were shipped & then several hrs later I got email saying we were invited & to sign up!! I thought that was too funny, by the time I got email all my fast passes were scheduled & the bands were sent ! Just keep checking!

They don't tell you. I looked everyday and they were just there. In MDE under Plan and manage just click on FP+and see if dates show up for you to do. I thought all of November is available now. Later that day when I checked many times finally my MB's showed up.

We didn't get told neither, I just stalked the November thread on the disboards and saw people were able to customize. When I logged on to MDE it still said "Manage" I did online check in and BOOM Personalize bands appeared I was 47 days out from vacation

I was able to customize around the 40 day mark, about 8 days ago. As others have said, I didn't receive an email, just kept checking MDE everyday and finally one morning it said "customize magic bands" instead of "manage magic bands".

I was told by disney cast member on phone all guests at Port orleans riverside and Pop Century will be given the option of magic bands as well as Animal kingdom guests. Not all resorts are being offered them yet they told me. I am staying at POR and about 45 days out I checked my disney experience and it gave me the option under personalize magic bands. Prior to that a message would just come up that they were not currently available to me or something like that. They arrived 3 days ago. The cut off date to personalize was two days before that so they got them out to us really fast and they arrived via UPS. They are really cool. They come in a box and there is a slot for each one and our individual names are under each band written on the box. So, I would not be surprised if you were not given the option yet. They did not tell me about it though in correspondence until after the cut off date for personalization. We actually got a letter telling us we were being offered to take part in the magic band band test and that we could go to My disney experience to do it but we received that letter the day before we actually were sent our bands. So keep checking the my disney experience online and sign up if you have not yet and if you are part of the test group they will allow you to do it soon!!

We are at 57 days now,
I could do magic bands at 60days
We can do part of our trip on fastpass but not the last few days so we are waiting for the whole family to get together and do them

I got the invite about a week after I received our Magic Bands. The invite is about three weeks behind the website, in terms of access to FP+.

Check your account on the disneyworld site and see if you are eligible for FP+ now.

Starting mid-october, all resorts have been added and are eligible for Magic Bands.

Phone CM's sadly usually have no idea what they are talking about.

This is exactly what happened to us as well. Never received an email beforehand. Happened to be on MDE to make a change to an ADR when I saw the option to order & customize bands with a deadline date. I want to say for us, it was about a few days after receiving the bands that we actually received the invite email and like you, by then, I already had everything including all my fast passes planned

Same here....one day when I logged into MDE I was able to customize our MB's.....3 weeks later I got an email to join the test!! Everything was done already before I got the email.

I ordered DVC Annual Passes online and got voucher cards in the mail. Someone told me to use the iPad MDE app to scan the vouchers into the ticket area. I did that about two weeks ago and yesterday I got a big envelope in the mail telling me we were invited to test. I went on MDE and the bands were there. Actually I got two letters in the mail because we are at Beach Club Villas on November 1 and Boardwalk Villas on Nov 2-3, so we got bands for both places. So had I checked the site, I would have seen the bands on there sooner, but I got the letter in the mail 29 days from our trip.

(I never would have known the vouchers could be scanned if it hadn't been for DisBoards!)

Is your check in date in Dec? As far as I know, they haven't opened Dec yet. There is a thread for people waiting for Dec to open.

We arrive at POFQ November 30th and are there until Dec. 8. My magic bands were available for customization last week. This week, on Oct. 1 I was able to customize FP+ for our entire trip.

We booked a last minute trip to the Grand Floridian (Arriving 10/31)...Received a letter inviting us to be part of FP+ five days ago...filled out the info. three days ago and received our bands in the mail today! Rather quickly considering I requested Magical Express earlier and have not yet received luggage tags...They do come in a beautifully presented box!

According to MDE, yesterday was our last day to customize or MagicBands, which I did, and it says our bands are being personalized and will be shipping soon.

Today we get a snail mail letter in our mail box inviting us to participate in the Magicband testing and it says that we have until Oct. 23 to complete the customization. Seems like they need to work a few bugs out of the notification system.

Well I am 53 days out and still no magic band options
